Cheers lol,
Ye I am buying one, infact I've bought one!
A sharp VZ-2000 I LOVE IT! (Even if it does'nt work) It plays really quiet out of one speaker and hisses out the other, but I am determined to fix it...by paying someone who knows what their doing! ha!
I have been bitten by the bug! Just wish my first one had worked from the off!
Congrats Jackness!! Sorry it doesn't work yet, but once you get it fixed it will be like getting a new boombox all over again. There are a lot of experts here who can help you out on this repair - it might just need some contact cleaner like deoxit sprayed in the right spots to help it out. The VZ-2000 is really great. It doesn't have the best or loudest sound, I think due to compensations Sharp had to make to include the record player. I have heard that external speakers can help it to sound really great, though. I haven't tried that on my VZ yet, because it has some weird looking overseas input connections for the speakers. Anyway, welcome to the group
and hopefully you can show us some pics of your new monster VZ soon!!
It is a nice box, well done! I want to get one too one day.
I like the red ones better but i guess they are more difficult to find
That, my fiend is a great start for a Bbox collection!!!!! Starting out with a VZ 2000...
Oh, and welcome!
Cheers for the warm welcome!
I got my VZ-2000 from a bit of a cow boy seller on ebay, hes de-registered now (convienent).
The boom box looks great, tape spins and plays, LP doesn't (yet). Unfortunately I only get low volume from 1 speaker and low hissing from the other. Its the same when you plug in headphones! I'l have to take it to a repair shop. Although I only payed £30 so cant complain!

That is good!!!!
Take your time finding a repair shop.... Try to find a person in his/her 40s-50s that might have worked on those in the days when they were young (that is, the repair person being young
) !
This meaning that they might stilll be in love with this awesome machinery, thus taking their time giving it a second life!!!!!
