have bought a few great big $$ boxes from this old member --they were both perfect, packed right and --
this guy means what he says --
his s2g name is potrokh -
his offer to us has been considerably reduced --
i am not in 'kahoots' with him
but will say that at any price --this is a beautiful collection :::
and it includes some "above grail" stuff
http://bbx.ujaz.com/
Good to know Ira,I love your "Kahoots" BTW,LOL!!!!
His collection is highly impressive!!! Those boxes are among the cleanest I've ever seen!
Any hints on what his best offer has been so far? Maybe you & I could split the whole enchilada and ebay off the ones we dont want. I call dibs on the Rising and the GF9000 though, lol.
reli --are you $$$serious ?
if $So -- then i would like that M90 --the seller did not claim it was mint -- but the "very good" is fine with me -
well that leaves the MINT goodies :: the panny 5350 , the wireless toshiba , the 920 with the mics , the gorgeous 720. the NIB M70 , the NIB 838 , the rarest of the 9696 models ,
etc, etc --
can we ALL do something with this collection ???
need a BIN of $10 grand ---
as a guess --since we are members --he would send them to EACH of us --so that no one member has to re-distribute them --
SO -- this is an appropriate time to ask ::
ANYBODY ???

btw -- cool avitar, mono
$10K? Damn that's over $500 each.... How many are actually ebay-able for that much? I am new to this so I don't know how much some of these would bring in
masterblaster84 - 2008-07-28 21:46
Ira,
I might be interested in the:
1) National RX-5350
2) Sharp GF-9696
3) Toshiba RT-S933
4) Sanyo MX-920L
Interest is in order listed
my oh my MB --
dont you just have impeccable taste
do you guys think we should do all this thru this public posting --instead of via PM ??
i do --
so - for starters --lets see if we can make the $10K :
i would pay about 800 for a nice non-mint m90 on ebay -- but from this member that i already have bought from --
i would pay $1,000 -- (much less risky)
ok reli -- your turn ....
MB --$speak up
masterblaster84 - 2008-07-28 22:14
RBJ let me get back to you, I have to think a bit on the prices but it's my bed time so I'll talk tomorrow.
ok MB -- no problem
i will also guess that the seller/member is not in a big rush about this --
all i know for sure is that he does not want to sell them one-at-a- time --
so - if we can all come thru on the total of 10k --perhaps a week or so will be fine --just not sure of that
hey Pan Fan --is this something like the s2g private auction we were talking about doing a few months ago ??
and , in case you have some better idea about how we members can get this good collection .....
we are all ears
panasonic.fan - 2008-07-29 09:05
I would be interested in splitting an offer at slightly below his asking price, with one or (preferably) two other individuals. I'm afraid that in a "party" situation there will be far too many wants to allow an amicable split of the radios involved.
If there is another person or two out there interested in making a joint offer, please PM me to discuss the possibility.
To answer your question RBJ, this is not something like what was discussed previously as a private auction: that was for a single box.
thanks for your input about this very cool 'joint project' , Pan Fan --
for my own interest -- i already do have (or had) almost ALL of his same collection --
so then , i , for one, would be 'out-of-it' if there were only 2 or 3 of us members involved --
so , selfishly - i would hope that as many as 5 or 10 members could jump in for the combined offer --
this would most definitely ease the huge $$$ burden for everyone involved --
so far -- it seems like we have just me and MB and you and maybe reli --
buts then all we need is about 4 or 5 more members --
it is very lucky that we dont all think alike :
for instance -- its obvious than some members here will want the 2 NIBS (i dont) --or the mint jobs with the ORIGINAL papers (i dont)-
and some collect those minis ,
and etc, etc -
so then -- perhaps we all CAN make an equitable, amicable split -- right here on this public forum , and with no PM deals -
so --- how about we all post VERY SOON -- what we want and what are our FIRM offers (as i did)
and see what happens ---
ANYONE ELSE ???????
James would like this one.
1. JVC RC-M70JW - NEW in box, never opened
here that first link on here
RBJ's Orginal linkage
cool
ok - so far --5 members
-------------------
we CAN do this
NEXT !!
Me, Bobby here, would definitely like to have the Sanyo M-X720. Bobby thinks it's a beautiful boombox.
depending on price i may be interested in the Prosonic PQR-9962
Someone should make a list of what HASN'T been spoken for......Because common sense says we would need to take those "unwanted" boxes and "forcibly" divvy them up between us, like maybe 1 box each, instead of forcing one person to buy 5 boxes he doesn't want. Otherwise this'll never get done.
James Propose's that this suggestion of RBJ's Stand's
for at least a week to make sure that EVERBODY
get's a chance to make "dib's" on some part, of this
collection For Sale at that place, Just to make sure
that nobody is left out... OK ?
Before anybody goes and, well...
?
and once again... James would like this one;
1. JVC RC-M70JW - NEW in box, never opened

nice selection there, fatdog -
that is THE elegant one !!
panasonic.fan - 2008-07-29 11:04
Hmm.....
All of the good boxes are spoken for. Oh well.
pan fan - i think you may (for once)
be wrong about that --
my guess is that after a week or so --there will be NO "dibs" --
it will , or should ? , come down to --
if we make up the $10 grand --
so what counts is ONLY what we can/will make FIRM $$ commitments to offer --
like - i surely have NO dibs on that "good" m90 -
so if any member wants to offer more than $1.000 for it --i am outbid --(or i have to up the offer)
which is FAIR and fine -
i really cant see any other fair way to do this --
but if you , or anyone has a 'more fair' idea about the who WINS what scenario --
please offer up your thoughts
OK?

Adam agrees and would like to know if the VZ is spoken for too? If not, how soon will this mega purchase happen?
Come on now - $10K?????? Vladi123456 thinks it would be cheaper to build a time machine and go back to 1984 or something - and get those NIB boxes for $50-150 each
But ya - how tempting!!! I would love to get my hands on all those grails and all the NIB boxes. I'm looking for a second job though, so as soon as I get one - I'll be back in business. Meanwhile, I could contribute a cool 25 cents to the fund
hey - for another BTW
those 2 NIB JVC boxes were won on ebay , but offered here to members first - it was a member selling then -- a few years ago (i think)
and the prices were a thousand for the m70 and something close to that for the 838
Are there any kool miniboomboxes in that list??????
walkgirl -- it says
panny f4 and f9 , near mint
you can see them in his pictures
http://bbx.ujaz.com/
I did found them!
, but I do not like them very
mutch
jaredscottfla - 2008-07-29 11:52

How about a Paper route Vladi? You could use one of those cool double pouch ponchos
hey adam --that is probably what vladi really looked like as a kid

Wish I could but that's in the 450 to 500 mile range for me, Sinister is right that's a 2 day trip for me. I don't think Sinister is all that much closer, it's a long drive for both of us.
I expect traffic isn't to bad in Los Angeles at 2:00 a.m.

Adam, last night a second person this year got shot while delivering newspapers. Seems like somebody in a police cruiser with tear gas would be a better fit for such a job
Ira - I STILL look like this
