just WOW!!
This might go for a lot.
the auction
masterblaster84 - 2008-12-08 09:14
I've been watching it since it posted, I'd like to see what it goes for.
Wow!!!!!!!!!!!! How did anyone kep from opening that thing up and using it? Amazing. I say 800.00. Any other guesses?
panasonic.fan - 2008-12-08 15:29
I'm thinking more like well north of $1k. Certainly, if JVC's 4360 is worth $1850, this has to be worth quite a bit more.
I wonder if the foam behind the speaker grills is still intact. Mine decayed to dust a long time ago.
panasonic.fan - 2008-12-08 16:44
I have two of these, and am fortunate enough that the fabric is still there on mine. It probably had to do with how the radio was stored over the years.
WHOA!!!
I'd guess north of a grand.
Wow who would have thought of seeing something like that!
Never opened still has the plastic wrapped around the carton!
Ah man I can imagine it may still have that new boombox smell.
Amazing!!!
It'll be very interesting to know if the new buyer will open it up.
Now that will be a very awesome buy for somebody !
I am hoping to get one of these oneday but i dont think it will be this one.
Yeah, a great buy....
Until one of the clueless isoldit morons opens the box up to "make sure everything is there" and then slaps a roll of tape and a big label on the "original" box and sends it out UPS Ground....
I will put money down that it does not go more than 300.00!
I guess we will have to wait and see.
Heck what do I know hehe....
I'm a newbie.
I guess $742
No wait, $845
You just tipped your hand Agentorange!
Hey, don't you have some decorating to do?
So far $330.00 with 4 days and 17 hours to go.
Does this one take batteries?
panasonic.fan - 2008-12-10 03:01
Absolutely.....
its gonna hit a grand before this is over
$410.... (4 Days, 8 Hours to go...)
$468.59 now, with 3 days & 9 hours left...

Dreams..... what an absurd thing to say.
well --seriously
-- i have been OUT since the first moment --not a fan of NIB stuff
however --have a few topical questions to ask --of any member who knows :
1. never heard one --asking if this is one of the very good sounding 3 piecers like say a fisher #480 or a panny #680 -
or is it even BETTER than those ?
2. were it not for the NIB collector/investor value --and then if this were just a 'decent'
condition C300 --
would it sell (ebay) for 150-200 ?
thank you
panasonic.fan - 2008-12-12 11:08
They have a very nice, natural sound. I think that the Fisher 480/490 can go louder somewhat, it has slightly larger low end drivers. It sounds better (to me) than a RX-DT680.
I've seen these sell for $120 (what I paid for my first one), up to about $400 in good working order. I would be stunned if this one goes for less than $1500.
THANKS
since the winner will be paying a fortune -and then -(wisely) , never open it --
he better have a beater/user C300 around --so the curiosity wont get to him/her
only If i would of known. I would of bought some boxes as I was growing up and never opened them
. I could of made a killing lol.
I found a stereo receiver once from the 70's in the box at the thrift store. someone opened the box messing it all up. but it was still in the plastic with all wire ties and manuals were all still in the plastic. It sold for alot on ebay but I am sure I could of got more for it if someone wouldn't of opened it before I got to it.
now lets talk about the NIB boombox
I like how the receipt says they still owe 31 dollars. maybe the person never picked it up at the store. maybe thats why it is still new in the box. maybe something happen to the person. maybe some collage kid back in the 80's bought it and then dropped out of school and moved back to home and it was to far away to go after. I just wonder why the receipt doesn't show that it was all paid for. maybe the person died before it got picked up. something must of happen that it was never opened.

Uh oh, our (former) resident obsessive compulsive is in on the bidding.
You know, Mr. too broke to pay for $10 over the past few months to ship something back that he never paid for.....
Well...then we can all be relieved. No more stressing about trying to afford it. We know where it will end up. Unless Warren Buffet steps up to bid...
panasonic.fan - 2008-12-12 22:46
No way man..... That idiot is not getting this.

Well, I know I can't afford it but I certainly hope a member here who'll treat it like it should be gets it.

You're too much!!
So, who's going to step up to the plate and strike a blow against obsessive-compulsive disorder?
Remember, if you don't, that nice Panasonic going to end up
here!
That was the video he did for me.... we never did do any transaction... I told him I collect mainly JVC... now he has started on his own JVC quest from what I have heard.
Can you imagine him bringing a date back to his place?
Someday all those shelves are going to fall down....
DM4U has quite a collection of boomboxes.
Imagine if they were all out on shelves with fronts showing!!!
So I guess he'll win the panny
Johnny
What does his user name look like on ebay? The highest bidder right now is e***e(390) - is that James?
I think so...

Yes, it is.
Oh great - I wanted to try bidding on Sanyo 650 - but he's bidding on it as well - so I guess good luck to me next time
Don't be afraid to bid him up... he will run out of money quicker that way and then you might actually start to be able to get deals again...
panasonic.fan - 2008-12-13 12:35
Yah, so the problem here is that James STILL hasn't sent back Jazzrat2000's walkman.
How much can that shipping possibly cost: $10?
The guy has absolutely ZERO morals. I agree: bid him into extinction whenever possible.
He probably lost the walkman in all that mess....
I guess my question is, if someone would win that and open it up to just plug it in and listen to it briefly, then put it back in the box would that be a "bad" person??
I'm sorry I wouldn't be able to resist the temptation.. I have to unbox, listen, photograph and rebox... I'm sorry...
Johnny
