Personally, if I bought it - I would open it and use it!

ao - 2008-12-14 01:35

The thing to remember with our friend RecentMan4U is that he has no passion for this hobby, he won't go out of his way for a particular unit he just follows the lazy route of buying everything eBay offers up with the word 'boombox' in the title.

He never found stuff at flea markets, he never worked with forum members to source parts to fix his stuff up, he had no interest in other members collections unless there was a window for personal gain. The worrying thing here is that he'll probably persue this Panasonic not for it's rare value, not for the fact that it's a great box, not for the fact that it's never been opened but he'll want it because of the interest it's getting.

He's also read this post so he's got the bit between his teeth even tighter now & I'm sure he'd love to notch up another kick in our eye so my guess is that even if he spends all his Christmas beer money he'll get it.

His life is empty, this is all he's got, the fun of the chase, he'll do whatever it takes to get these boxes so he can put them on his shelves to gather dust in the dark away from anyone who might care. I say let him spend his money.

Me, no, I was never a fan of this guy's work.

I believe I did that to him once when I got my Lasonic TRC-920...
I didn't even know he was bidding on it till he came back here and asked who I was. Big Grin

you could ask the seller to see if they would ship it. I know I would if the person had alot of feedback. I am sure it could be double boxed and shipped usps priority mail or something.

jason1976 - 2008-12-14 07:07

The high bidder has 3 bids in on the top. who wants to bid and uncover his lower two lol. I shouldn't think that way but when you do things like that people will do that. I am not bidding. lol

Laugh Out Loud that is funny!

Wouldn't it be funny if inside that "NIB" box was a couple of weight proportioned bricks inside, and not an RX-300 Laugh Out Loud

It will be interesting to see what the final price will be.

jason1976 - 2008-12-14 07:14

yeah it will be funny to see. like I just said that the top bidder has 3 bids for the high bid. thats just stupid to do it that way. I am the kind of person that bids with it says 5 sec to go. and I bid the max price I am willing to pay. so If I thought this was worth $1,800 I would bid $1,800.05 just in case someone else bid 1,800.01. I may get it for like a grand because it only goes up the next amount above the person that is under you. so its not even likely I would end up paying 1,800. but I would be sure to win it.

needless to say this is out of my price range. the misses would kill me.

johnnygto - 2008-12-14 08:30

I'm sometimes guilty of bidding that way. If I want the item I slowly start loosing grip on logic. I keep increasing my bid against my other half(therefore my chance, instead of dropping one big bid).

There are other times I drop my max and then go on with my days chores... then to my suprise I WIN! Smile If I really want it my last bid would be an amount I hope not to have to pay, because I really like the way it looks, sounds, etc.

I expect the last few seconds will get out of hand.

I'll be watching. Smile

Was this a Captain Obvious fact statement, or something relevant?

Nice to see OCD4U not in the lead for this anymore. Curious to see if it's topped out, which would make it (imo) a very good deal.

ao - 2008-12-14 12:30

A tad harsh PF

panasonic.fan - 2008-12-14 13:25

Hey, if it has some hidden meaning I will gladly eat my words and apologize.

johnnygto - 2008-12-14 15:35

Well thats quite a bit of money. Wonder what his max bid was, looks like the one buyer was gonna one click win it Confused

Johnny Smile

$1,361.01. You are a true prophet, AO! (Maybe we should have a holiday to celebate your birthday, too.)

jason1976 - 2008-12-14 15:43

all I can say si OMG. and he had double bids in. I just wonder what his max was also. I just wonder what kind of price it could bring in under a better economy.

cutra - 2008-12-14 15:50

Gee you could have bought a car with that money.
Not a great one but one non the least.
lol

monolithic - 2008-12-14 15:57

Except doing that requires a) effort, and b) concern for others, both of which are qualities you don't need in order to bid on eBay and send money to sellers via Paypal.

johnnygto - 2008-12-14 16:22

Well at least it got bid up on him Big Grin

Ya, so hopefully now he won't bid on that Sanyo 650 Big Grin

jlf - 2008-12-14 16:53

Whoa! I got caught up again in that collection thread link B.Boomer posted up on page 3.

Id love to have much of that stuff...

I have to wonder about this, or any NIB. You just know, somewhere in the world; there is an old stash, inventory, shop, just boarded up full of any given BBX NIB! Ive seen it happen time and time again with old bicycle shops!

johnnygto - 2008-12-14 17:03

Is it okay if I bid on the Sanyo? Laugh Out Loud

Don't worry 'bout me I just want my GE and you all can have the other stuff Smile

Vladi best of luck to you!

Johnny
