I was ready to BIN it when it came out but all the add on stickers gave me pause. Anybody know what that's all about?
i will also 'step aside' for any member who wants it -- they do sound GREAT --
but if you read the above post by Ramon -- this one is DIFFERENT than the good one james (dm4u) has or ramon has --
i do have a few mini-bids on it already --
but sort of dont know if we can 'trust it'
I want to express my personal opinion. I looked up at this boombox and my conclusion is that this is a fake boombox. if it's real is real. if it;s fake then it's fake. I honestly believe that something that is fake cannot be real and something that is real cannot be fake.. please don't take my opinions for granted after all . I;m just a newbee here and most of the times newbees are either completetly wrong or completely right..
Huh, say that again.

Yes that's very odd!
well - i just checked the bbdb --and could not find a 660 that looks like this ebay model --
and i know for certain that the 660 models that ramon , dm4u and skippy now have --do have that chrome bar -and look different than this one--
all that does not imply thats its no good , or that its a fake --
but , to me , it only means that i wont be bidding too much
there were a lot of different stereo660s,all mfr`d in Singapore:
the cs660 without suffix,
u suffix-120v/220v(like the auction)
e suffix- 220v/240v
hg suffix (Xv)
k,g,
.....
and the same box wth various voltage and on front side:stereo660-but on the back side-id tag:tpr660
...
(I guess the just run out of aluminum stripes)
also differences in reception:
fm,lw,mw,sw.
fm,mw,sw.
also there have been color differences:
light to dark grey backside housing sides appeared at this model.
and:grills in dark and silver(rare).
skip-you still like to listen Michael Jackson on yours?
nah-you sold it to Jeff!
well i had a look again i would think thats its legit, the backing sticker are the aiwa factory ones it just has the small added ones and it could be a late model maybe the real last ones produced before dicontinued with these boxes
Ira sold to James this Aiwa CS 660 date 31 May 08
100_3556 Aiwa CS660 front
100_3557 Aiwa CS660 back no extra stickers !
They sound good too, gave one away a while back that deck was a pain to work on and i decided i wasnt messin with tinker toy decks anymore.

Aiwa's are the biggest pain in the *** to work on.
Well, the condition WAS exquisite until he laid the back of it on concrete. I absolutely hate it when people are so un-thinking.
There's no way he's going to pick it up again without making a mark.
masterblaster84 - 2008-07-21 12:32
I never understood that RA.
Some one claims something is mint, babied, well cared for or whatever but the pictures demonstrate a lack of care like laying the 660 on cement. How about at least laying it on a towel or something soft.

well james did not win it for 3k
sold for $510
masterblaster84 - 2008-07-26 19:47
Congrats BB looks like a sweet 660.
I hope this doesn't break your heart but the BIN with free shipping was $300 and I almost did it, kind of wish I had.
I'll probably kick myself in the morning for spending so much, but I saw the 660 during one of my regular "Aiwa" searches and wrote it down on my "what the heck, throw in a bid at the last minute and see what happens" list.
When I first saw this bbx, the BIN and free shipping were already gone... but only by a few hours. I hate when that happens! I sort of knew that, if I won it, I'd end up spending more than the original asking price.
The really frustrating thing is that it would've gone for a reasonable price if the second highest bidder hadn't bid it up by $100 three times in the last minute of the auction. But that's all it takes: one person who's determined to outbid everyone else, and suddenly the price goes through the roof! Like Jared said, at least it wasn't $3,000!
But for me this 660 was irresistable, what with the strange, "revised" stickers and the original box and packing. As for the cassette belts, well, I'll cross that bridge when I get to it. I'm just hoping the cement didn't leave too many marks on the back of the unit when it was photographed.
Hey, a win is a win. I should sleep happy tonight... if I can just forget the original BIN!

Whoa!, a new radio
Congratulatiosn BabyBoomer
Congratz BB.She's a beaut.
When you receive the package you will forget very fast how much you have spent.
Well, it's morning, I slept great, and I don't even have an Aiwa hangover... yet. Thanks MB84, Jared, Nicolle & Eddy for your support. It makes me think that maybe I did the right thing after all!
Plus, when I was at Circuit City yesterday, I passed up some really nice digital cameras that were on sale. So, the way I see it, I've already saved the $200 I overspent on the 660. Amazing how I can make the math work out in my favor!
masterblaster84 - 2008-07-27 09:26
BB don't think of it as overpaying, you just didn't snag it for the underpriced BIN. Enjoy the 660, the physical condition doesn't get any better than what your going to have.
