My girlfriend is moving out and I need money. How do i go about selling this as profitably as possible?
whole thing is pretty dirty. All speakers work. I haven't heard ideal speakers so i can't comment on the sound quality, but i don't get distortion until i turn the volume up to about 55-60-65. I've never tested the tape decks. radio works fine, although both antenna are missing. alarm works sporadically. One of the VU meters doesn't seem to work right although they both move.
battery compartment is rusted, and i'm afraid i threw out the compartment cover. does not power up from batteries. large crack in the long piece of plastic covering the radio frequencies.
missing the bass knob. cassette buttons look all ****** up, i've never tried to use them though.
the line in works good. i'm not sure what those switches on the back do.
Oh yeah, it remains on even when the power button is not pushed in, although the lights do go off.
yeah thats about all i can think. tell me what to do with this.

i say sell it to kittmaster , he's a good guy
since i'm in money crisis mode i'm going to have to extract as much as i can for it.
unless its against forum policy i would prefer if you make a public offer. I have no clue of the value the box, and i suspect the value is very relative person to person. I can't afford to sell below what the market can support.
that being said, i need 500$. Is this realistic at all?

There seems to be many unknowns about this radio, you mentioned you don't know the condition of the decks. It is going to need some work to restore it. I just picked up a complete unit for less then 1/2 of the suggested thus far. It is missing the face plates, looks like the tape run indicator is messed up.....
I don't want to be a downer. I'd be willing to offer $100 plus shipping. It will require a lot of attention to try and restore it.
Maybe someone will offer more and I'd understand if it went that way, but thanks for the response.

RBJ, the low record I can recall on Ebay for an actual transaction is $68.
Even with a bad photo, it appears to be in much better cosmetic shape.

Unfortunately, no.
The one positive is that you have the tape deck door for the bottom deck. They are hard to come by. Aside from that.....
Way too much exterior damage, missing parts and functional issues. It was stored in a damp place/outdoors, and has definitely been dropped or knocked over pretty bad at some point.
Also working against you in this case is that that the Conion C-100F is not very rare, and are usually found in much better shape.
I think that about half of your asking price is a more realistic expectation of a price ceiling, *if* you can find someone willing to overpay to get that deck door. The only real leverage you have in negotiating the price is that door.
I think if you cleaned it up and parted it out over about a 6 month period you might top $300. Maybe. If you find the right person for each part. And that is assuming that the parts you have can be cleaned up. And that the rest of the case is intact.

I agree, parting it if you have the time, will get you the most $$$ in the end if enough of the internals of the box are in working order. From the looks of the exterior, I don't know.
You seem to be in a hurry to sell it though, which always works against you when trying to extract the max $$$ that the market will bear.

I agree with what's been said so far about the price, in it's condition your looking at maybe half of what your asking. Lately some fairly nice Conions have sold in the $500 to $600 range.

Hey, so i was offered 200 for it. my plan is to take some more pictures, maybe try out the cassette player, and put it up for 1 day auction on ebay. i'll bump with the link tomorow.
you might make more parting it out then if you just sold it as is. i did that with my M90 and it turned out pretty good.
yeah i know, i would prefer not to sell it at all since i had dreams of fixing it up.
however like i said in my first post i'm short on rent this month and selling this is pretty much my only option.
