I have this JVC-R4J boombox up for sale. sounds is FINE. distortion when adjusting the volume otherwise good excellent sound. tape player is dead not working.. no play no rewind no forward..very good cosmetic condition..send pm if interested.

the distortion that this box was making has already been taken care of. regarding the tape player. it needs new belts and it should run like a baby.

pc-37 is an awesome box! one of My fav jvc for sw listening! very sensitive tuner!

try finding the pc-47 same as pc-37 except DUAL Cass! Very Good Box as Well ! Back on Topic,I like The pc-4 Javier,but the dead tape deck is a deal killer for me. I did Find a New Tech,But He's Pretty Slow on Fixin The Boxes And His Prices are Nrly Double What The Guy who Closed His Shoppe Used To Chg.
I personally THINK(Again Just a Thought,No Actual PROOF)When I bring in a More Expensive or Impressive Box His Price"miraculuosly" goes up To fix it!

if anyone want to grab this JVC I can make miracles.I have friends around that will be so happy to fix the deck.. I can possibly do that without a problem. I can even do it myself but unfortunaly.. my time is so limited to other pleasures that I have in my life at this point. so if someone is up to get it with the deck fully working I can do that too as well.. just let me know..

is increible how the sound changed it completely from being distorsioned to being just normal.. I did a nice cleaning there to fix the volume issue and I found out that the belts were al stressed out.. anyways.. I really think that the SAE EQ is quite nice.. you can really feel the different.. the sounds is very impressive. I was lisening to some spanish stations here in san diego and WOW I love the sound.. another thing that I will like to add is that a pair of speakers that I pulled out from a toshiba boombox.. I really think those speakers are about the same diameter as of this JVC BB .. I don't know if they will fit there and the only way that I can see if they will fit there is if I take out one speaker and try to see if the toshis fit there. one thing that surprise me is that this JVC speakers are 3.2 OMHS and the speakers are only 6 watts x 2 = 12 plus whatever the small tweeters pump up..mmm I need an engineer here.. so basically I'm talking about 12watts plus tweeters.. and guess what. the sound is so impressive.. finally I will like to say that my experience tells me that this boombox was only used till the tape player got dead and my intuition is that either . they just kept lisening to the radio ocassionaly .. or they also stopped lisening to the radio.. well I really hope you guys are still awake..
