Go for it banjoe
i married a goofy newfi -
Ramon has agreed to help turn this POS into a museum piece --
no problem
I'd go for it if I were you Ira......
thanks for the pep talk , skippy
Sorry. I don't do dibs. Get ready for a bidding war on that sparkling Sanyo beauty!
I'm all over this JVC, too:
(Yeah right.)
And by way of TWKO (Technical Wallet Knock Out) the winner is....
I'm stepping aside as, according to Ira, I'm still waiting on FEMA and can't afford anything!
Good luck to you both.
well - the secret plan -- after the victory.
is to shoot a jug of windex at it ---
and then to post it right back up here on sale for you fellas :
will call it "near mint // easy fix"
Well, in that case... it's all yours.
Actually, I've managed to win my fair share of boxes in the same condition on eBay over the years. I just never find out until they arrive!
they may have been the 'one owner' boxes
Darn ... James Slept throught the bidding for this .... Glad you got it Ira ...

well thanks for the fine gift --
no fault of anybody but mine - that i overpaid by $50 for that POS !!
so how about --lets not post or ever discus this one again-- i was trying to forget about !!
really
er, What happened to ..... your first one....is it under all those bottles?
hi uncle ed --the doublemint 9998 you sent is still safely in your shipping bag --
its far to nice to take to the beach --
but this beauty i just won -- is already pre-rusted and ready for action
well -the gem arrived today -
and i can report 2 bad news and i good news :
bad #1 ---
is that in the long time it took to get here --jens has deleted his 'show your ugly boxes' thread --and i was so anxious to enter and win it it all !!
bad #2 -- is that i have to thank the kind MEMBER who ignored my polite request for a simple PM -and instead -- came in with 6 seconds to go - and turned an obvious $15 box - into a $60 overpriced rip
no names -- it was NOT dm4u --but it was one our our big time collectors.
----
but the good news makes it all up :::
by next week --old buddy ramon will finally have his brand new industrial grade hammer from home depot lay-away
and has promised to turn this duck into a swan --
details of the progress will be up next month

Good news sort of Ira and a great example of why we need to communicate with each other. Regardless of some claims to the contrary we actually can save each other money by cooperating on bidding for boxes, Ira has a perfect example.
Don, good point!!
Ira, this box looks a lot like Sanyo 920 - what does it sound like??
i like it! looks like a fixer upper to me but thats ok .lol
i also say that don has a very good point
vladi --this model. imho, should be on your want list -
seriously --i have a great one i bought off uncle ed a few years ago --
it sounds like in between your m70 and your m90 --
(which means GOOD!!!)

It's a very nice looking and sounding box, especially with the loudness engaged which gives it a very warm sound. As a bonus it has a very solid build quality.
one of my favorites
How does it compare to 920 though? They look very much alike!
the 9998 seems to have slightly harder bass hit --and the 920 is more clear at the highs --
other members might have a different opinion about these two.
masterblaster84 - 2008-07-16 19:29
Well Vladi since I'm sans 920 I can't make that comparison but I like my 9998 because of it's uniqueness, quality and sound.
Cool - thanks guys!!!
hey vladi --
allocate some big funds --
we will have THIS one all spiffied up for you -
shortly
I'm prepared to make a large payment - would $2 be enough??
vladi we accept visa ok or mastercard the 9998 is in fact almost the 920 but i consider it better sounding
well vladi -
we already turned down a solid $3 --
but since you are a valued repeat customer --
rest assured that your offer will be further evaluated

Samuel Moore Walton (March 29, 1918 to April 5, 1992)
Gee all you retiree's down in florida are getting senile - exhibiting a loss of cognitive abilities (as memory) associated with old age, so sad but we still have high hopes for you
panasonic.fan - 2008-07-18 20:34
Oh no, Sam talks from the grave..... he said, "put a stop to that guy that keeps comin' in my stores, buying all of the "Eggs"......
I mean, after all the UK folk talked about them fondly back around the time you joined the site, so you *had* to have bought them all. This we know.
