This post is for members with technical
experience and ability to repair
troubled classic boxes.

A service manual with circuit diagrams and good
scope or meters are needed to repair this box.

Externally this box is in great shape as
seen in pictures:

The speakers are perfect and grills almost new
and remote works Ok.

But the inside has following problems:

Left Channel amp IC or some other part in
Left side has problems.

When I got the box it showed problems on Left
channel, so I openned it and found cracked
circuit board near the amp ICs. The Right amp
IC output was purposly shorted to the Left
side so that one of the amp IC pairs (R) was
driving both speakers sides.

I ordered two amp ICs and replaced the Left
side but it still has same problem as before

Here are the amp ICs. The outside IC was taken
out from the Toshiba. The IC inside bag is still
new from toshiba but its size has shrunk
compared to the original IC that was inside.



The cassette tape drive has problems also and
it likes to eat tapes.


If you have the experience and boldness to
start this new project; then maybe we can
talk about a trade.

This box can become a classic again, but I am
done trying to fix it. As a result of multiple
open and closures, 1 or 2 of the case screw holes need rethreading.

Hope this goes to a good home with someone who can fix it. Wish I had the $$....damn

yes, the condition I got it was nice outside
but inside the problem described.

I was too quick on ebay rating on seller
and he got away

..so vlad IS a $hitty ripoff lying crook of a seller...don't forget to leave a few comments in the feedback section here for him...hopefully your comments might stop it from happening to someone else

Is the tape door ok. it look`s a little askew?

The tape door during picture taking was askew

But I saw that a hold down on the door was not
in place, so now it is held down and straight.

I am the new owner of this one - Mehyar is great. He packed it up and sent me all shipping dimensions within an hour of receiving the paypal. Now I am just crossing my fingers that it can be repaired... I am really happy to have this boombox on the way soon - looking at royal's avatar was making me crazy(er) wishing I had one of these.

Yes, I sold this model some time ago. It was in good working order & didn't have any problem. I don't know if this is my bbox or not, but anyway I sold it long time ago & the buyer didn't report if it has any problem

Clearly you never opened the box up to look at it.....

It was rigged from a failed condition, and doomed to fail. Not saying that you did it, but, damn, what a shame.

I repeat I don't know if this is mine. ...and how I remember the buyer was satisfied with his purchase. Anyway like a seller I can't accept any complains after 6 months when this bbox was sold
