Hey Jared,yes it sounds really nice. Good bass and highs.I picked it up the other day,I almost left it but I thought someone might want it.I put a new belt on the tape counter,as it was broke.I was really surprised how nice it sounded.Thanks!

Those are a great box for the money, I had one as well. Although it didn't fit what I want in my collection it was a nice performer. They only sell for around $50 which is an excellent price.

Actually Mb they can sell for more,I've seen a few go over a Hundred,and Francissharrak pd 165.00! (Ok,Bad example.! )

What? $165? That's pushing the limit pretty hard on that box. OK your right, $100 isn't unheard of but I wouldn't go any higher.

If anyone has heard this box up against the Magnavox D8443,I'd like to know how they compare for sound.I believe the "yellow sub" box came out right after the classic D8443 that had the big round center woofer.It appears to be very similar in execution.Do they sound the same?

I had a D8443 before. I think big yellow sounds better (IMHO).

I concur the Yellow sub, is much better sounding I think...

Well, I bought mine BECAUSE of the different look! It's a very functional box, continuous play from A to B tapes, Aux out, five band EQ, this box never got its street cred because of the weird look, but I'm always glad I bought this one. You'd be surprised how good it sounds.

i have the green version if anyone needs a parts box! free capstans are missing and it is a POS. lol radio works it is just a parts unit. I got it free i just hate throwing things away. someone take it!

buy skippy's unit and take mine for parts! brilliant!

i like mine alot. i have a yellow one badged as a phillips. it think that despite some people not really liking them that they are pretty damn cool.

I thinks that the yellow one is brighter sounding but cannot put out enough bass due to size of speakers.

and that the D8443 sound warmer untill you crank in too much bass then it cant handle it because of not enough amplifier powwer

Very interesting!Thanks for the pictures DM4U.I have never seen them side by side and was not aware of the height difference.If the 8300 is brighter sounding as you say,I might be interested in finding one of those.Its always good to read posts with box comparisons.
