I will be relisting my Sharp GF-9696 on ebay either tonight or tomorrow morning with a BIN $520. If anybody is interested - I will sell it to an existing member for $420 plus actual shipping. Plus ebay fees - if it's already on ebay. This is "first come - first served" kinda thing - so whoever contacts me first - gets it.
Short description of problems:
- Rust in the battery compartment
- Antennas are bent in the top sections - which can be seen when antennas are fully extended
- Some chrome wear on top around the sliders
Short description in general:
- FM stereo works, both VU meters work, tape plays, rewinds and fast forwards at normal speed, line-in works

i'd have that of ya vladi123456 if i was in usa, shipping to uk would be a killer
MB84, ya - it worked out just fine, although I really should remember next time I get drunk - to NOT work on the boxes I just sold!!
Geoff - don't feel too bad - this one is 110V only. My second 9696 with a voltage selector 110/220V got sold to a lady in Australia

oh well, not to worrie, been looking for one of these for a while now, smashing bbox, its the last gf bbox i need
How many of these did you have at one time? I really like that look. Is this one better in shape than the universal voltage one?
I have two Sharps 9696 right at this moment, but I finally got a payment for the first one - and am waiting for a check to clear. On the first one the tape deck needed new belts, plus the tape door needed repair - it wouldn't stay shut. The person who bought it said she has a friend at a Sharp service center, so she can get the parts for it.
The one that is on ebay right now is in a better shape mechanically, and as far as looks - I would say the first one looks a bit better because of the chrome finish wear on the second one. It is not horrible, but it's noticeable - as you can see from the pics. Hope this helps
