Girlfriend with kids moved in I need room
erniejade - 2011-09-18 10:11
As the title reads, the girlfriend moved in with 2 kids. I am out of room.
I live in IL. I am willing to drive 2 hours in any direction to avoid shipping the lot. I would like to do this in a big lot. If I dont have any takers, I will then separate them and find boxes for all of them.
I am not getting rid of all of my boxes just some that either wont fit, or they were spare, or for parts or cant be brought back to life. I am keeping like 50 of them lol Some of them its been a while since I have listen to them so i will try to remember the best i can to describe them.
List
GE 8-track loudmouth rare with fm radio. If i remember right, the head came loose from the housing and this was common. It was common for the housing to crack but in the past i have seen members put a dab of superglue on the outside and it would hold fine after it was alligned. I have 2 of them!!! it is the grey color ones.
GE loudmouth 8-track non radio more common. I have 1 red, and 1 blue, I have not used them in a while but they might have the same head issue as above since it was common with them. I will check them out better to make sure.
Superscope crs1800 with the outside case. I picked this up at a goodwill and it was dirty, battery cover missing but, it worked!!! The deck worked last time i tried it.. that was around a year go. This unit is heavy for its size.
Toshiba rt200s, i think the radio worked but the deck im not sure. I havent used it in like 8 years or so.
B&O 10 i think the deck worked but ran slow. Not sure.
Panasonic f4, and rx32 mini. I cant remember if the decks worked but the one with the clock on it the clock is still holding time lol.
Sony mini cfs-w50 in red. not sure if it worked or not. Cool looking unit. I never powered it up but i can take a look. I just thought it looked cool
GE mono 3-5280B Great looking silver mono unit. worked 100% last time i used it.
GE 3-5251A stereo, radio worked and the deck worked but ran slow for a min then ran fine the last time i used it but, that was 5-8 years ago.
GE 3-6000B worked 1000%. this unit is in great shape and very different looking.
JVC PC 50 last time i used it it worked
McDonald 06-33 67 worked fine last time i used it.
For parts sears 2100-304 and 21460350
Realstic Modulair 1000 with a spare head unit. parts.
Here is a heartbreaker but it works. Goldstar STR518. An amazing looking unit, worked 100% last time i used it ( i can try it again before the sale) here is heartbreak part. the handle is bent like melted, the back is melted also but from the front, it looks fine but the back..... not so much. it was like this when i got it.
Fisher 480 monster unit. Has some issues, 1 controls need to be cleaned big time! the channels will cut out if you move the buttons or switches. It does come back when you like it tape fm a bunch of times or move the bass treb sliders over and over so it needs to be cleaned out. the deck works but no sound outside of a loud hum. i have no idea why.
Rare Kenwood DC-20. this is the man unit with built in speakers. I have the case that also goes around it!!! I do not have the external speakers or extra amp unit that was optional. I think if Hifi tom is still around he had a unit will all the toys on it. This unit does not come up often. It looks amazing.
I am also thinking about throwing in the Panasonic RCX100. This unit worked 100% last time i used it. I did not use it much for fear of the speakers. Let me explain for honestly sake. The speakers for those who don't know are foam and prone to foam rot. I didnt want the speakers flying apart when playing it LOL. Before i stopped using it though, it has a ton of bass and clear sound. I love the florescent display. Reminds me of some of the old pioneer decks! Now the speakers when they do come apart, they can be refoamed.
It would take a lot to ship all of this so I am offering this up to a member here that is local first. Again, i am willing to drive 2 hours in one way for the price of gas. I want this to go to a member here to keep them either alive or for parts to make another unit come alive.
Please feel free to pm me an offer for the lot.
Again, i am not getting rid of all my stuff, this is actually leftover boxes. I have too much!! LOL

sorry to hear man, but thats life, i didnt see any old sony's, (70's) do you have any?
very interested.
erniejade - 2011-09-18 10:34
Nope no other sony's. Sory!!
Im not out of it believe me. The units I have listed are just laying around not getting any love for quite some time. So besides the room, i would like them to go to someone who can give make them come alive again or use for parts to make another unit come alive to keep it going.
I still have like 40-50 boxes after they are gone LOL. wayyyy too many lol

Wished you lived closer to here as well! Down South here is a Fisher PH-480 in somewhat better working condition ( has sound both channels) than the one ErnieJade has...

This poor Goldstar 581 actually works and sounds damm good! Radio pulls in stations nicely even with the messed up antenna!!!!! The deck works, plays, ff ww, except the record button is pushed down and will not stay up. The handle is bent, back is melted and the top is pitted. Again its amazing this thing still works. heck even the clock works!!!!! From the front, you cant tell the rest is wrong with it except for the rec. button. Again, it really sounds wonderful. It is a great sounding unit.

Kenwood DC-20X works !! This does have built in speakers. I think hifi tom has a fully build one on here with the external speakers and the changable battery pack if you look at the back, there was a battery pack where the ac pack goes. This comes with the case as well!! This unit was way ahead of its time.
Now for the bad part, the built in speakers do work fine but they just dont sound that good to me. I imagine the external speakers that would attach on the side did a much better job.
This is a rare unit that does not come up too often.

Get this RED Sony CFS-W50 on the Left ASAP!!
Sony CFS-W50 dual casstte deck 5-band equalizer; has
True Line-In ( Plug Switchable via The Designated "line-In"
3.5mm input jack rather than standeard rca's )
What this means is; if you wish to play your digital whatever through this, simply turn ON 1st the radio and then plug in your 3.5mm Stereo Source to the jack provided on the end and you are NOW Hearing your new Source!
or remove the source/patch-cord and you Now back to the internal Radio ( having a Double-ended 3.5mm Stereo jack at either end help's very Much )!!!
uh I like the Sony....CFS-W50.....over ... there....
aand on the Right is a rather boring Panasonic RX-F4 , featuring 4 push-button eq - "No" line-in...

chris69 - 2011-12-14 02:25
How about getting a smaller girlfriend? One that can sit comfortably on top a JVC M90 for example.... get one made in Japan that has a course in repairing electronics. (the ones in Taiwan are made kinda cheap haha)
