looks funny with multi colored speakers

i cant make my mind up wether i like the look of it or not,it certainly looks bright and colourfull..wonder how it sounds with those speakers ? its bound to sound better than the originals,sharp speakers are poor,all sharp speakers look pretty rubbish with the skinny little weak looking voice coils..

I bet they sound way much better, than original ones.

I wish i had the heart to do something like this to my 1000 (not so gordy looking though) but it sounds good enough as is......thanks for the pic metad

same with my GF999s reno lad,the speakers are just standard sharp in mine,i have'nt got the heart either to go messing with them,well i have changed the outer speakers on one of them,but it looks nicer for it,i like the look and sound of it,but its only a moderate/sympathetic mod,it does'nt look too different and its still has its classic look..

plus,i would only want to do a huge speaker change if my plan was to blast it on full every day,i hardly ever play them and when i do i only play it at a moderate level,they sound ok on lower volume,but pump up the volume with quite alot of bass and they cough,pap,fart and splutter..but in there defence,they were only ever made as a "portable radio cassette" they were never designed for hifi sound,so for a portable they still sound good..

hmm i posted about this somewhere.  i quite like it.

thats REALY the bottom line paul lad...i bought the 1000 cuz i like the speakers...i havn't seen any that i prefure....and your right about the coughing spluttering......i have better boxes sure but im happy with the 1000 the way it is.....i would love another...but i cant deal with that japan crap and by the time you import your now looking at 500 smackers....stuff that for a game of soldiers....if only peppin was still selling them

peppin still sells boxes lad but he either hides them from our ebay or they are just not viewable to us,on his auctions it says us only,plus if he did sell them now he would want megga bucks now prices have gone up..he has upped his prices too..

I nearly bought that big pioneer paul.....one channel only working on the deck stopped me....

and speaker rott aswell,did you notice ? i like the pioneer buti dont like that silly pre amp thing at the bottom.. the speakers look weird and a bit ugly,big cabinets but small bass speakers and just a big blank space around them,it would look alot better if they never attatched that weird pre amp on the bottom,then the speakers would have looked propper with smaller cabs..the first thing i would do if i bought that is take the grills off the and spray the front of the speaker cabinets black,then put the grills back on,they would look alot better..

Do you mean the POWER AMP on the bottom and not pre, + the rectangle around the speaker is actually a speaker, the bass driver to be more precise. This is a unique 3 way design. To clarify, if you painted the front of the speakers you would be destroying the Bass drivers in this model.
