same old tail again bm, i give up trying to figure it out why people pay that much for them but they do personal choice , as stated on here before one mans trash is another mans gold ,   by the way bm have you a cassette door/trim for a 555 knocking about !  

i know mate,i was thinking the same thing,i would love to know what goes through peoples mind being happy to pay such a price,wondering if some are mentally ill..i dont get it..

I've had 2 GF555's over the years,one was nice and one was a bit beat up,they went years ago,i know that reno has a really nice 555 that needs deck work,maybe he will sell?..

i really like the 555,although not the best sounding box,but they are made really well and solid,i think a speaker upgrade would sort the sound out and give it more bass..if i ever pick another up thats what i will do to it..some nice 4ohm free edge woofers so they can really bounce..

thanks for letting me know bm , sorted out my 666 out yesterday first sharp i have bought that doesent need capstan rubbers there fine ! micro switch on deck 2 was on all the time causing motor to be whirring all the time 5 belts job done

The last GF9000 i sold on ebay,think i got about £170 for it,and it was a nice example too..this is why i dont get these auctions,£400 is madness,and the one that sold before christmas,what did that go for ? think it was about £520..so i think, like Wtf ?

Its either some people are complete dingbats or they were brought up as a very spoilt child thats had everything,and simply have to get what they want like right now at whatever cost..

tell you what i have noticed recently bm , boxes bought for peanuts quick wipe down chucked on ebay getting good money and of course seller refurbished ( my arse ) , was watching a grundig sat 1400 the other week on the bay seller re-furbed in his pics it had 2 broken levers on the switches ! so i told him who are you trying to kid , he replied dont you tell me this tell me that !! threw his toys right out of the pram , so i sent tarzan a nice message telling him to calm down and breath out ! they must think were all stupid

got my eye on the no frills listing for the same unit on at the mo,

would prefer to find a local one of these though,they look fragile

My jap one i had shipped from japan cost me about £220,only because i was charged £42 for import duty,but when i got it and looked at it,i said to myself "You Plonker,why did you buy that" but,got to admit,it is a nice looking box,and they are Big,simular-ish to the 777..they have 8" woofs,but listening to it you would'nt think that.for sound,they are in a simular league as the crown sz5100,but the 9000 is 1000 times more solid and nicer quality..They dont sound terrible,but it could be better..

Hmm i think canada is a tad far lol..

thats good to hear,i thought they looked as though they had the same build quality as the sz5100,

i want one even more now.
