Ok, so ask around and you never know what you might find...

I find out that the host of the party i'm playing at next week has two 3 speaker TDK boomboxes, one he bought ex demo to take about and one he got brand new one for home, although it just looks too big in his flat, and he wants to jack it in for a 2 speaker instead. We talked about linking them both together and get twice the volume, although we found out that just the 3 speaker was plenty, that box is loud (and sounds crisp)

I was offered first refusal on it but seeing as i'll get to use his other box any time I don't really want one of my own ha ha, and I want to spend that cash on my first vintage boomer anyway, so he's looking to sell it, or would be interested in a trade for a 2 speaker plus some cash, but not through ebay to avoid fees etc. He's asking £355 posted, which is £45 less than he paid for it and with £22 postage it's a good deal, it's brand new, still wrapped.

We live in Glasgow so if you're around that way collection is possible, and I also travel back to England (to Birmingham every now and again) so if you want to meet up in a train station along the way I can bring it along with me.

It's a great box, sounds fantastic, and surely will become a grail in the future, but it is big when you put it in a tiny room, and heavy when you've got it on the streets- although those big 80's boomers aren't light either

anyway if we get no interest on here we might have a play about with how much D cell power we can get out the 2 boxes, and I might even buy the spare off him depending on what else comes up in the next few weeks. But yeah if you're interested pm me and i'll give you his details.

ok fair enough, but that is in the US, so with shipping charges and tax it's going to cost lot more than 189

They are still selling for about £360 everywhere in the UK

He would probably rather keep it than sell it for 189, but i'm sure he would entertain an offer- and you'd be helping out a fellow boomboxer rather than the evil amazon corporation

the tdk 3 speaker black box seems to be a good buy, considering that it was 600 dollars when it came out, i have only tested the 2 speaker black box and it sounds good, i can only imagine how the 3 speaker sounds like,  but i am still waiting to go a little lower hehehe.

really? I can't see it on their website, they only have the 2 speaker for £300, if you can get the 3 speaker for 250 that's a killer deal, but it's not on the website, so maybe it's just in your branch they're trying to get rid of them, my local HMV only has the 2 speaker too

went into 2 branches of HMV again and definitely no 3 speakers, and they couldn't order me one in so I guess they're clearing stock (maybe a replacement model coming out- with a tape deck )- so if your shop has some stock i'd say buy one for that price because that is one killer deal

ok back to this box, he still wants to swap for the 2 speaker, so he's lowering down to £325, which is basically 310 with postage. Collect it and you can have it for 310

I have been thinking hard about getting the 3 speaker Tdk. Amazon has it for 299.00 and free shipping. Thats sooooo tempting. Probably going to order this tomorrow when the woman is at work lol.  I really like the looks of this. Best buy has the 2 speaker and it does sound good, so 3 should be awesome.

Ok just saw this on ebay. item number 360460549674. This guy has 5 available for 279.00. 9 buks to ship to my house. Question I have tho, where it says condition-new, then box- retail box- damage, do you think its all good? The guy has great feedback and it says new in retail box. Dam. should i just go with amazon?
