The main unit is pretty much the same.   the speakers are pioneer and kenwoods

I'll take some of that action. I'm new to collecting boxes and need a nice gf-777 like this if you are willing to ship to California. But to be honest, I don't know the conversion to $ and how much you are asking for it.

To me. It`s just the way it`s put together. Everything adds up on it. I like the blue vu`s. Much better IMHO, than the gf1000, who`s only redeeming features are the white speakers. Build quality, is nowhere near the 999.

i have to agree with you richard,i think the GF1000 is "ok" i have nothing against it,but i just dont want one,i much prefure the GF999,i wanted one of these the minute i saw one for the first time..

i love mine..

i have been selling Alot of my collection off,alot have gone now,and they will continue to go,i need my house back,but my GF999 will be one of my very last ones to go..or if someone was to offer like the simular amount dave wants for his,i may let it go,but until then,it looks great where it is..

This is a fantastic stereo. Does it sound as good as it looks? Unfortunately just a bit out of my price range at the moment -  I'll keep saving!
