what price for SHARP GF-777 will be right?

luke.loves.sharp - 2013-01-14 18:02

hey, my gatto blaster fan friends here! Have you ever bought 777 from eBay? I found a 777 biding on eBay, now it reaches 180 dollar with 7 days left. Do you think what price will be right for that 777? It looks a little old, but the functions seem available from the vedio. here is the site: http://www.ebay.com/itm/rare-S...626&cmd=ViewItem

somebody gives me some advice please, thank you!

Bottom line Luke;

1 Do you REALLY want it...if so YOU determine YOUR final price. Set a limit and stick to it. Ebay is like gambling, know your limit.

2. Be wary of the ridiculous shipping costs from Asian markets. Factor that into your final price.

3. Factor in insurance as well. Couriers don't treat poorly packed boomboxes well at all, and a long journey to New York has a lot of handlers between these points.

4. Don't forget import duties. Make sure before it's shippment your aware of any outstanding/ hidden costs.

Good luck with the 777 and Welcome aboard!

given the enormous availability (ebay is flooded by them, i found mine in the wild & people keep offering me one every other week) i daresay no more than €50. but then we live in a world that is all but right...

metad - 2013-01-15 01:58

where are you from, samovar, if you don't mind me asking ?

northerner - 2013-01-15 02:05

Sal (Samovar) is from Italy, where I'm going to move to if you keep on getting offered 777's for 50 euros!!

Sal, next time someone offers you one for that price please buy it and send it to me!!!

samovar - 2013-01-15 04:08

1. don't take me wrong: i didn't say that people here offer the 777 at 50 euros, i said that TO ME it shouldn't be worth more than that, and i'll explain why soon (see below, #4).

2. first, however: i bought mine last july from a private at 200 euros, full working. since then i have been offered many, the last twos at 250 euros each --the last last one in christmas time.

3. as for availability: on kiiji there is one right now at 250 euros (another, however, is sold at ebay-price: 850 euros).

4. if you re-read my message you'll find out that i said that we live in an unjust world. the gf 777 is the least difficult box ever to find out, but NOT at its right price according to the so called supply/demand law.

5. last but not least, i tend to be slightly ironic in most of my posts, so please take my statements cum grano salis (grain of salt), as the latins used to say...

northerner - 2013-01-15 04:53

Darn it...I thought you'd get me a 777 for 50 euros I'm too tight to pay much more than that!

I'm a bit suss of this since this in effect is further advertising of the auction when the seller came on here posting about the auction but I think the thread got deleted, when in fact there are planty of other 777's for sale, so why this one again? My guess is that this person is the seller, I obviously can't prove it but it just all seems a bit coincidental for me.

That said, IN MY OPINON AND MY OINION ONLY! a 777 in decent condition is a £200-£250 box. In excellent shape with original box I wouldn't pay more than £300-£350 and that is pushing the boat out too.

northerner - 2013-01-15 06:28

Well spotted Dave. Just had a look and it's a different listing but the same seller...could be trying to push his sale, tho realistically I don't think it would make any difference as we all know what's for sale on eBay anyway

I'd love a 777 as its such an iconic box, I'm just too Yorkshire to cough up the readies

its good to see some sense spoken about gf 777s,

inflated ebay prices in the far east for this model are crazy,

the above prices are reflect what im willing/hoping to pay for one.

well said docs.

and €100 for me, thanks! Originally Posted by Northerner:

the price $182 on ebay seems steady for days, I will keep waiting to the end and hope I can get this within $200!

luke.loves.sharp - 2013-01-16 16:24

nice ratiocination docs, but I'm not the seller. I have kept watching the seller on ebay for days and I'm confused by the real right price for 777, but anyway I got some advice from you guys here, it helps a lot. Thanks.
