I just found this in and old Hifi Choice magazine I had stashed away, and actually had a chance to audition this unit at Harvey's Electronics back in '94. The sound was not bad, but the two hour battery life was the deal breaker for me.

I have a NIB DCC RQ-DP7. It is a very awesome sounding machine but not portable as battery wont hold charge anymore. Its VERY heavy too much so to be carried around , lot like first PCDP's. Built like a tank. Most outstanding feature of it is the dynamic range is almost too much. Seems am adjusting vol. a lot as softs are too soft and louds really Loud... were to used to the compressed range of most recorded mediums. HERE is link to my topic some time ago on the DCC player.
