The CD turns 25!

Couldn't imagine how time flies, I still remember back then when I was a teenager longing for a disc player and those unaffordable cd albums...and now it's already 25 years!

1982 to 2013 - doesn't that make it 31 now?
"Amsterdam, The Netherlands – Exactly 25 years ago tomorrow, on August 17, 1982"
and it's only April!!!
this page is from the past!

I have that CD player, the Magnavox FD-1000 I think the model is. In original box with folder that contains manual, cleaning cloth, and Sampler CD. Even has the original sales receipt from 83'. If someone wants to make an offer I am open

For much of my childhood, the CD player was a luxury that was out of my reach, so not surprisingly I felt REALLY awesome when I finally got my first one in the 90s! Most of the first CDs I bought then are still in my house, showing the wear of age, lol.

I still have my Sony D-5 I bought new after working 2 part time jobs. Only one store in town had a section dedicated to CD's and it was a 1.5 hour bus ride downtown.
First CD I ever bought? Pink Floyd's Dark Side Of The Moon.
I still have all of my CD's as well, even some rare ones I ordered from Japan...BEFORE the day of Internet. I actually thumbed through a paper catalogue in one store and waited up to 4 months for it to be delivered.
Today I use my mixtapes more than any other media...THEY ARE SHOWING THEIR AGE LOL!!!
..not me though...I'm timeless
