RBJ, I have a handle from an Aiwa CA-30 that I scrapped. Dunno, maybe a shot in the dark but.....
Let me know if you want it, if yes PM your address and I'll send it to you.

the pins for the handle attachment on the ca70 are 12 3/8 inches apart --

I found pics of the Aiwa CA-70,CA-W20 and CA-30 that I used to own and sold,"darn it" and the handle all look similar and should interchange. i had a extra handle from a CA-30 a long time ago and sold it to a member in the U.K. for his CA-70 and he said it worked perfectly,so you should be good to go Ira. Here is the pics I found of the three,starting with the CA-30.

i am extra thrilled to be getting the PF CA30 handle --
because the stock 70 handle looks flat and boring --compared to the 30 --

and all of them look somewhat better than the bleeding knuckles from my strap !!
Yes I agree the CA30 handle looks a little "fancier" than the handles on the CA70 and CA W20. Congrats,now your strap won't break on you and drop your CA 70......
the strap is 3/4 'industrial grade'

the ca-70 is much too heavy and too good --
to trust with a wooden handle --
wood ALWAYS want to crack along the grain lines
