Congrats on the find, an M-90 through flea market contacts is awesome..I have had very little luck at the flea market.. good thing your contacts found the M90 before I did! lol.. BTW i am also in Hamilton..
Flea market sweet. The one i used to shop at, the guy figured out what i was after so everytime i saw him get one in, i would ask him the price for it, and he would instantly take it off the shelf and saw its not for sale. Bugged the crap outta me. I guess he tought if i wanted it, it must of been worth millions.
ghetto the store its in is "bang-on" on queen street near city tv. You have to talk to them. I think the owner lives in B.C. not sure if its working. And he prob knows what its worth!
Hi guy's yeah it is getting hard to find that dream boombox.Been wanting in my collection the M-90 and a good friend who has contact's throughout canada,Has my childhood boombox wish list and with it locates my dream's be it ever so slow but that's the nature of the beast with the ghettoblaster in general.I've seen on ebay some of the prices these vintage king's posess or for the buyer that be.but not my style i'll wait my turn to find my lost childhood dream come true ....just not at those price's and here's the secret if my contact's knew i would get a cheap price box from them and flip it
that would be game over for me.I guess they check ebay like me

Yeah some of them do
. This one one flea market that i went to, it was over when i bought
first boom box from him. First of all nothing from him worked but he still wanted top dollar. The object would be thrown on to the dirty shelf not clean and collect more dust. The he would be like oh its easy to fix (even though he would not take the time to fix it). He also relized I was from the city and knew if i asked about anything, it must of been worth money. So i would ask random prices on random things so he would not see what i was after.
I remember when he got a candle boom box in from the late 70's about 24 to 14 to 7 inches in depth. I knew it was not a good make. asked for a price and he said "not for sale, these go for like a thousand bucks on ebay". Of course i knew it was a bluff. i found in my canadian pawn shop travels store owns use ebay to jack up the price on anything; American dollars and all. Even though they won't sell it on ebay. Drives me nutz. I only had one pawn shop owner be good to me, but he did not really deal with stereo equipment.
But ebay can work against you as a seller, cause alot of collectors are in the states and will not buy out of country.
IT was worse when I cleaned the town out of NES controls, lol.
but all my life i have never seen my dream boom box. most people in my town just instantly dump it! or garage sales are the best i find.
