Hey,
I'm sure someone out there has a parts box with a nice minty looking front case unit for the 777Z.
If so pleaes give me a shout so I can set about doing some work.
I'll take the whole case if necessary but it has to be in great condition.

Fuzzy, is your 777 one of the many less-than-perfect Chinese sourced examples?
I think mine is too.
I need a new rear case & a front wouldn't go amiss either. Also there are various operational issues I need to sort - belts, one woofer not working as well as the other, etc. I'm terrified of what I'll find when I finally get around to opening it up...

hey fuzzy, i had a gf-1000 like that...same tuner frame problem...i know what you mean....what i did was i took a brushed aluminum decal roll...which they sell on ebay if your interested in this...
first what you do is you make a template of the frame with some paper (easier with the insides or guts taken out so the switches wont be in the way)...and takes a bit of crafty-ness and time...then i traced over it to make the cut-out then placed it on the brushed aluminum adhesive paper to cut over it...when done, and you stick it on it covers the letters but looked much better... same can be done with that chrome that surrounds your tweeters...i also bought some rub on letters as well...but itself was very tedious and letters kept coming off because i used a glossy type of adhesive so i left it blank...so maybe a matted or flat look would have stuck better...

Hi Isolator42,
Sorry about the late reply. Yes it was one of those infamous ones from China.
The horrible state of the tuner panel has been bugging me for long enough now (4 years) so a few weeks ago I carefully removed the messed up paint with very fine sandpaper just leaving the text remaining in little blocks. It looks a bit odd but it's a lot cleaner looking than that hideous crazy paving effect. The plastic underneath is a nice pale grey colour and matches nicely with the rest of the paintwork. It's not brilliant but I just couldn't stand the state it was in.
The chrome surrounding the tweeters was also badly faded so I restored them using mirror effect signmakers vinyl and they now look like new.
All I need now are two nice clean tape door fronts as there are a few marks on the existing ones and they look a tad scruffy.
