Hi all. Just getting back in to Boombox's again. I've just picked up a Sharp GF 5454 in a bit of a sorry state, But what's really bugging me is the volume switch is missing. Has anyone out there got one?

ahh right,which part of uk ? i have a GF5454,you can play ipod through them but you have to used either a cassette adaptor ot Fm Transmitter,i have both..

hello man,i'm just a collector,i dont sell audio stuff mate..i do have a GF5454,but it all works,all thats wrong with it is the Tape counter reset button has broke..

I just need the volume switch... Sorry, should have said that... I don't suppose you've got a spare volume switch that would fit have you..?

Hmmm not sure man,do you mean the volume knob ? not the switch thats inside the ghetto,i'm not sure what you actually mean..i'de have to have a mooch through my bits box,i'll look on my GF5454 so i know what to look for,if i have one i'll tell you,it beats me where these things go missing and why..its strange..

It probably got knocked off... I took some stuff to the dump on monday and saw it sticking out of one of the skips, asked the guy if I could take it and he said no... So I waited till he wasn't looking and took it out! It's stupid you can't take stuff out of the dump in these days of recycling.... To answer your question, Yes it's the volume knob I need. I plugged it in for the first time last night after I'd stripped it down and cleaned it up. The right speaker hum's and the play button is stuck down... I don't care though, It looks bloody cool!

i know what you mean,i've seen loads of good stuff at the tip,i've asked for all sorts and they told me "no" ..one member on here even found a GF777 at the tip..

WOW! Thats one hell of a find. I had a bit of an arguement with the guy at the tip because there was a welder in the skip on my first trip. then, on my second visit it had clearly gone. I asked where it had gone and he said it must have got buried underneath more stuff... Tosser! Any idea why my right speaker is humming?

yep,i totally agree with you,the people at the tips are weasels,you ask for something,and even offer money,they still say no,there just turds..
The fault with your 5454,try pressing record,then stop a couple of times,see if that sorts it out..sometimes the record switch goes a bit dikky,other than that,the amp chip will be blown,will need replacing..
My jap boxes have cost me a lot !! of cash,way more than i wanted to pay,but now i have them i'm still happy,they fixed up rather well,i've got all of them working perfect..i love them
I'de love to buy lots of jap boxes and have the full jap range,just to have something different..
