I found one today at my local swap meet.
it was an amazing experience.
uppon bringing it home to test the tape player - it does not seem to fast foward or rewind - and when play is pressed only the right side spool spins -
so im 100% shure it should have the belts replaced to be a functional tape player.
if any one can point me in the right direction that would be amazing...
this is a pic of the exact same radio I got today in the wild. ill post pix of mine when I clean it up nicely

On these Magnavox models the gear inside can become brittle and break. I would say you need to get the deck out to investigate 1st. One thing about this box is that all wires from each board have to be removed in order to get boards out to get to deck. If this is your 1st box I would take lotsa pictures so remember where all the wires go. Once you get to deck you will see the components. You should check the belt to see if loose... The gear that I speak of looks like this
If this is bad you will need to locate a donor from another box
You can purchase belts from here in the states at Studio Sound electronics
Good luck
