Kittmaster is in a struggle trying to fix my rt-s931 - He has it down to one last hurdle and it is in need of the part in this picture:
We are hoping someone may have this part and that it may be the same piece on other Toshiba decks as well to help in the search---Thanks

Sounds like it broke off.
its the spider of the base plate that is one complete molded piece. I seems that a few of the tosh decks are very similiar and if we can find a parts box we may be in luck. The top piece was completely sheered off. The idiots that dicked with this box really screwed it up. It has broken traces, cracked pcbs, improper power amp installed.....all fixed.....this tape issue is almost the last hurdle after getting the eject mech in order......

chris if the toshiba s90 deck is any good for this lmk ill take the deck out and send it you the tosh isss a scrapper anyway LMK.

wich part do you need a pick of will the front of the deck do? im afraid if i take it to bits ill trash the deck and it'll be no good to you.
The image in the top of the thread shows the outline and the red circle is was is broken off. It attaches to the "spidering" that is meshed with the cassette body.
You'll have to see if they match or are close? If you could snap picture of the deck, I can determine it also.

Has anybody got any diagrams for the s90 deck thank's. i wouldnt want anything for the deck just for shipping.
Hey rimmer - thanks for the deck offer. I would definately pay you at least the shipping. it sure would be great if somehow we could figure out if it has the needed part though first - does anyone has pics or a parts diagram of this deck?
I believe I have a toshiba deck I will check and compare the needed part. I will write later if part is compatible
we'd be willing to pay for the entire deck if need be and if its a good match and/or replacement!

I saw the pictures this morning, the deck isn't even close....its an autoreverse model, way to many differences, I couldn't shoe horn it in if I wanted to. The search will continue....
we are still hunting for this or any tosh with a mech deck....
I found a double toshiba BB but the deck is not the same as the one you are looking for.. is your BB single or double cassette.. not sure if you can try to adapt these decks that I have from another model. not sure if the model will help but is definetively not a match unless you can adapt it. I can still send a pic.?
I should say that it matched in a way not identical but I good similar match.. if you want I can send a picture for compatibily.

well done Tim, those are exactly what I needed to show what is wrong with mine, and hope that someone can come up with some help. The top post is completely broken off and the spider beneath is is causing the gear gimble to "cock" and not swing left to right repeatedly because the plastic is physically missing. I could try to fill it, but I know that it is most likely because the post is completely missing.
They really fck up this box....it is all almost 100% too, hopefully a donor or something will evolve from the ashes.....is yours a parts box Tim?
chris my friend if my deck is any good to you just say the word, i have removed the tape counter and tape belt is all i needed a belt for one of my m90's lol

I'm sure appleknocker will be ESTATIC about this. I can build a complete deck from both of these and finally finish it. So yeah,we'll take it. Box it up, get a price for apple, and shipping, I'm sure he'll take care of it.

hey chris do you need the logik board with the controlls on or just the deck.
I just hope you make this work buddy for apple cuz this 90 was the most expencive trade i have ever done lol it would be great if something good comes out of it.
as far as I can tell, the logic board "appears" to be fully operational since it responds to most of the commands. I'm wondering if you should send it along and if I don't use it I could return it to you.
I resurrected two bad amps, 14 pcb cracks, auto volume level circuit.....lol.....I think it will be a good fix when its done....
ill keep the board here dude to save on postage its quite heavy
and in the uk they know what to charge post wise, last time i tried the deck it all worked there are a couple of clips missing that hold the main spindles on thats about it and when i bought the s90 i was told new belts had been fitted.
thats cool, all of that is intact here, so I can just transplant it as needed. Sounds like were good to go.
I know airmail is pretty quick so hopefully have by the weekend.
