Check out this site I stumbled across courtesy of a google search for something else:

This particular page is listed as having been posted in December 2005 and shows that someone was (maybe still is) willing to pay up to $500 for a NIB model. There's a list of offered pricing based on condition.

The site itself is put together by P.I. Carl Davies' promoting his book titeled PLANE TRUTH and his goal appears to be to uncover the truth behind the Lockerbie, Long Inland and Air India 182 crashes. The site also provides various discussion forums as well.

Considering the nature of the site and the fact that they are asking for specific boombox models for an exhibit, it makes me wonder if someone built a bomb into one of these BomBeats?? (hey, that's a pun!)

Anyway, I didn't delve too much into the site, but I thought some of you might find this interesting.
