Thanks,
floyd!
The box is MASSIVE!!! It makes the other boxes in my collection look like the children of... !
I need the antennas to be 9.5" long when they're fully closed.
You didnt happen to win the one one Ebay witht he gaping hole in the aentenna area??
Tecsonic J-1 Ebay
Not sure about the J-1 but my MX-900 had those aerials with the orange tips ? I know they're not OG but Radio Shack has similar style antennas with red tips for cheap. They have a few different sizes. I used them for the KTO I just found which had the same exact antennas as the MX-900
They look pretty good when installed if you ask me.
Good Luck and that's one I will have in the future... Tecsonic may not of made the highest quality electronics but they are definitely LOAD and AWESOME
Congrats Bro ! We have to hook up some time and play with each others boxes

She's gonna need some work done, but overall, she's in great shape!
I'll definitely post pics and give a brief review in a day or so.

I like the look of those antennas on that box!
I'd have to buy the antennas online... The Radio Shack of now ain't the same as it was 10-15 years ago where I could walk into the store and and they'd be right there. I went to 2 Radio Shack stores in my area (looking for replacement antennas for my General Sound box) and they didn't carry 'em. It seems they're more focused on cell phones and whatnot instead of the small electronic pieces like LEDS and capacitors.
Yeah, maybe we can get an East Coast meeting like the one they had in Florida... 2009 style!
Thanks,
Smokin_Endo!
Hope you get your part! And super glad you finally got that J1!
If you want a set of two I'll gladly grab them for you locally here in dirty jerz and bring them by on a Wednesday night. I ride my bike in downtown on Wednesday evenings and it wouldn't be a problem at all.
LMK
A gathering would be killer
I personally help organize plenty of them for vintage BMX collectors. In fact on September 20th we had a group ride and 43 people came out... it was a BLAST and we hung on South ST. till about 3:00 AM. No one wanted it to end LOL
Again lmk on the aerials it's really no trouble

I hear ya Mono about not seeing minty J-1's. I am so intrested in one in the near future. That hole is gonna be a headcase/cluterfuck to fix I'm sure. I dont even know if the boxesare worth it, they seem to be made real fragile.....but being a complete diehard fan of the movie Do The Right Thing, I must have one.
Plus big ass boomers are dope. The bigger the better. Congrats on that score. What does the J-1 measure out to in dimensions anyways?

Actually, it wouldn't be hard to fix 'cause I have this stuff called
PLASTEX.
I used it to reattach the plastic post (that's inside the box) that actually holds the antenna in place. Still, in order to fix the outside, I'm gonna have to buy the black version 'cause the stuff I have is clear.
It almost gets no bigger than the J-1!
The dimensions are 31 1/8" long, 16 3/8" tall, and about 8" deep (add 1 1/4" to the equalizer section).
NICE that the plastic was inside the case. You got lucky. Thought for sure that piece was a goner.

Sorry, man, I HIGHLY appreciate the gesture but the weekdays are rough for me!
After coming home from work, the last thing I wanna do is go ANYWHERE!
Bad enough - it's hard for me to get the motivation to out on the weekend.
