Hi everyone, just been clearing my dads cupboard and found two Sharp GF 9595.

Radio works superb on both of them BUT...

Issues lies with the tapes (maybe a common problem) When i press rewind and fast forward the wheels are quite strong as tape moves fast. Quite surprised that the wheels still work as my dad had the units for over 15 years or more.

It is when i press play the wheel doesn't move at all. I looked at the wheels but noticed a wheel behind the cover that the rubber has somehow became some form of melted/sticky. I think this is the main cause of it. (not gripping from the spindle to the play wheel)

It would be much appreciated if any of you can tell me where i can get that part or part number.

If not then i may sell the units on ebay.

capstan roller which drives leading spool has gone to liquified rubber, a common problem on sharps, you will have to find some rubber piping and cut a small piece off and replace it,you may find some in a car spares shop? I
found some in a fishing stall at a market. you will need to remove the complete cassette assembley and remove the capstan wheel to fit the roller.cheers, paul.
