Anyone have a nice one for sale? Anyone? If so, shoot me a price.
I should not have let mine go.
Let me know, Thanks.
I found one! Not sure that it is worth $2000 plus shipping. If this is coming from a retail establishment, what should it be priced for?
2 grand sound right? Waaaa?!?
As a rule I NEVER comment about what a price SHOULD be...BUT...
2K?!?!?
...NO WAY!!!
I did it! I found one and only paid $350!!! I got lucky.
I am awaiting delivery, from the pics looks a little worn around the power button. Other than that, it looks to be in very good shape. Last owner claims excellent shape, speaker foam is intact and original.
Anyone have matching paint for touchup?
I think I scored, we'll have to see when I receive it. I will keep you informed.
Got taken. The drivers are not original, the rest of the box is intact, but dirty. The seller claims Excellent condition, not excellent, hardly very good. By the pics I could not tell if the speakers were original or not. I know now why it was only $350.00.
Without the original drivers it is not worth the money I paid. A real disappointment.
Sounds like crud, just want to throw it off into the ocean. Anyone have original drivers? (yeah right)Seller claims she was not an expert so I have no recourse in this matter.
I would not have cared so much if it was bumped and scratched, I would have enjoyed the sound. Unfortunately I cannot even do that. Oh well, any ideas?
Post or PM me some pictures. Lets see what there is to work with. I will see what I can do to help you out.

Well, here's the link to my Photobucket.

Actually that is not too bad of shape. You have both the flip open doors (including the bottom one on the deck. Only about 30% of PC-5s for sale offer that. That alone adds about $100 of value to the unit.
The cosmetics look pretty good other than the slight wear around the power button. But I have seen (and bought) units that have all the lettering worn away on all the power buttons and source selections.
I would say other than the non-original drivers you have something good to work with. Get some Orange Glow and a soft cloth and get to work cleaning things up. One of my PC-5s has non-original drivers... I will see what they are.
Thank you for all the feedback guys. I do feel better about what I got. I know when I get some decent drivers I should be able to enjoy it, same thing happened when I purchased vintage Klipsch Fortes. I had to get new tweets for that too.
The other boxes I have are in pretty good shape, so when I got this one I had high expectations. Feeling better 'bout it all. Thanks again for everything.

Contact JVC see if they still have original drivers.
Ill make a call, tell ya later.
Don't get too excited. Parts Store lists everything like they can get it but they really cannot. Once as an expensive experiment I ordered every single PC-5 part they had. (!!!!) It was a huge bill. I got maybe 5% of it. And it was still expensive. I don't even recall what actually came in.... I can check though.

Its common for the speakers in this model to go bad.
The foam goes bad and also the box has too much power for the original speaker and blows them or they start to go scratchy.
But thats one reason you would like this box too is because of the high power.
Also the replacement speaker should be a 'magnetic-shield' type. or it will magnetize anything near it.
Those cute little chrome caps on some speakers are actually part of the magnetic shield.
