Just got one of those little/heavy/old Aiwa TPR-940's like
Fuzzyduck has. But mine is missing the tuning knob at the top. It's about the size of a quarter (a little smaller than most tuning knobs, I think). Does anybody have a spare knob that's sort of like it? I don't need an original (I think Fuzzy's the only member who's got one), but just something that would fit and look like a knob and turn the dial. Please PM me if you can make my 940 complete.
Fuzzy's 940...
My knobless 940...
Hey B.B. does it have a splined shaft or a D shaped shaft?
bb is there any way you can take a pic of the shaft itself ,is it toothed or keyed?
damn scott you read my mind man lol.
Here's a pic of the shaft. Hope it helps.
THANKS, Skippy and Floyd, for`replying so fast... and for knowing more about knobs than I do!!
Skippy, your chromed one looks just right! What do you think?
Yes it looks pretty close. Do you have anyway to measure across the shaft?
Mine looks to be about 5MM.

Looks like 3/16 inch across.
Looks like it will work.
I'll send it to you if you would like.
I just need your address,I lost it.....

OK, metric. Yes, 5mm seems just right!!
Very cool!!!! Would you like the black knob too?
it has the same size splines.
No need for two. Save the black one, in case someone else dumb as me (is there such a thing?) needs one someday. Once I saw the exact match, I knew that's all I needed. I'm satisfied. Thanks a million!
(I only it were always this easy to get satisfied!)
Ok B.B, the knobs are yours man. Thy are on the way...
Oooh, I got one of these too. I'll remove the knob this weekend & see if I can find an exact match from my 'breakers'.
Also, mine has an aditional orange button top left, I suspect this is for the light.
Ohhh nice one Agent!

Looks like a black one might be closer to the original. Skippy's gonna send me two (chrome and black), so I'll have a choice. So, for now, I've got what I need. But if I break 'em, guess who I'll be hitting up for another one... Thanks AO!!
Why do you have an orange button and I don't?!? (Looks like's Fuzzy's 940 has one, too.) I WANT AN ORANGE BUTTON! (The black pushbutton on the far left works the light on mine.)

OK then.
Agent, while you're searching for that exact match knob, please try to find me an orange button as well. And since my 940 doesn't have a place for one, please also tell me where I should stick it.
(By the way, what's a "bloke"? Is it anything like a "dude"?)

Yup.
So, it's OK to say, "Way to go, cool bloke"?
Just call Agent a "cheeky bloke" He'll get the idea.......
Got it.
Skippy's knobs arrived today, and I've chosen the chrome one because its size is closest to the original. Thanks, Skippy... not only for coming to my rescue when I needed a tuning knob for my Aiwa TPR-940, but for giving me a choice. Thanks also for sending the knobs lightning-fast. Where would I be without you? (Answer: pathetic and knobless... with sore fingers from trying to turn the Aiwa dial by the shaft!)
Awesome!!!!!!! it looks good with that knob, thank you also...
