Can't remember the GE model number off-hand, but looking for the guts (ie electronics) for the GE equivalent to the scr-6. My GE is 9 out of 10 cosmetically, but has a bad amp. I am thinking that parts from an SCR-6 would also work.
Thanks
That would be the GE 3-5286.
i think i have one of those. ill check later
That's the correct boombox. I REALLY need a parts machine. Any help you guys can give is appreciated.
Tom
Sinister,
Is 5258 the GE model #?
I'll look on my GE today and let you know. If the models are the same, can we make a deal?
What is the state of your radio? Is it basically functional? Hoping to transfer some working guts into my rather pristine encasement.
Hey Tom. The 3-5258 won't work for you as it is a lesser end model than your SCR-6. Here is what it looks like, you can see it is quite different.
To clarify:
I have a GE 3-5286A that is cosmetically beautiful. This radio has bad guts.
I am LOOKING FOR a 3-5286A as a functional parts machine. Exterior can be battered to crap as long as it's functional.
The correct photo of this radio is posted in this thread by Skippy1969.
(I thought) that the SCR-6 and the 3-5286A were the same radio. I could be wrong.
tom did you ever find one ?if not i have one . email me and we can talk about it i was going to list it for sale and remebered you were looking for one . john
