go get some photo copy's done, asking for old 80's ghetto blasters - ask what they have laying around - loft/attic, spare room, basement, that they would like a couple of bucks or so for them ?

then stick up around you street/town and see who answers it - you may just get one or a ton -maybe some thing even rare ?

First off, welcome to the site.

Seeing as it's your first day here and nobody knows you yet, you shouldn't expect folks here to fall over themselves to sell you something. Take some time to get to know the folks here, and you will end up getting the opportunity to buy pretty much whatever your budget will allow. But first things first.

There are many boxes on Ebay that will likely end up in your price range. I would recommend that you focus your efforts there for starters.

Insulting ANY members here new or old will not facilitate in any positive relations or good transactions. There are many reputable members here who have built a trust by patience and positive communication. PF, that was a very nice gesture you did by posting boxes for this 'PHADE' for his price range. I too can testify to Jared being a trusted salesman (Sinister too). Patience is essential in this hobby.

I just kind of wandered into this topic, and I just think that ANY disparaging remarks should be taken elsewhere. I know I am a newbie here as well and maybe my words don't count for much, but I think that what was said to Jared was NOT cool. I have been talking to a lot of people on this site, and he has to be one of the most professional, kind-hearted people I have met here. The remarks were clarly not called for, and I personally think an apology is in order, but this is just me...

And to Jared, don't sweat the small stuff man, you got enough going right now...Just remember you have your friends here and you have always been cool to me, as well as the rest of the crew here...

Look...I'm not starting stuff again, but really. All you guys are not even looking at my side of the story.

I called him a dink, he called me a douche-bag. Now, I thought that was "NOT COOL" so that's why I reacted the way I did. How old are we...18-25 years old and people are hating me for calling him a name, when he has called me a name also.

I've been on forums, and us elders like to welcome new people to the site, which some of you did (Sin, I believe that Dumpster dude did, and that Panasonic Fan, and others, so thank you). It's the nice thing to do. Am I right?

So, I ask him about buying a boombox, never once have I talked to this dude, but he replys being rude saying that I'm not playing "his game" because I included what my price range was. I just think it's mean because me being new, I actually would expect an elder to be kind and friendly and all the hubby-dubby sh*t, and if I knew I was gonna have people jump down my throat for asking a question and calling him a dink, I would have never asked.

I think that is really stupid and it really got out of hand. This whole thing is about a f*cking boombox, so I'm sorry to everyone for thinking I'm an a*shole because Jared was called a dink by me.

So, with that in mind, Jared, I'm offering you an apology. We should handle this like adults and not like children.
