I think it would be more fair to all, for him to simply post it up for sale. Besides, Freddy already has one. All of the people who posted above do not.
mowiwowi, welcome to the site. As you can see, there are several folks interested in this model. Please post more information about it. Helpful information will be a full description of its working condition, and some good photos.
Good luck with the sale, I don't think you find any shortage of interest in this boombox as long as it's in good cosmetic and working order.
Hey whoa whoa whoa!!!!
I have been hunting a black one for an eternity. There is no mystery about that. Just because I have a silver doesn't mean I want the black any less. Do a search for threads related to a CP-7 and oldskool69 and you'll see.
panasonic.fan - 2009-07-08 13:38
Sure Freddy, I understand (and respect) that you've been after this one for some time. But the fact remains that these are pretty hard to find, and you already have one. Perhaps you'll consider putting up your silver CP-7 for sale to one of the folks here once you've acquired a black version? I can think of a few folks who would be very grateful.
I don't remember GSBADBMR, ever being questioned... I buy duplicates of every box I like!!
9 Conions 100F's
2 master blasters elta/jc2000
2 jumbo j1's
Its what I like

Apparently, you aren't taking the rarity of the CP-7 into consideration when you made that statement. While great boxes, none of the ones you mentioned are as hard to find (in collections much less for sale).
Of course, should OS end up getting this one he can do whatever he wants. It would be a nice to thing to do for one of the others here who have expressed interest. That's all my suggestion was meant to convey.
I don't think its ANYONE'S perogative to tell any collector how many of something is ok to have; while we all have our opinions, to actively try to sabotage someones attempt to get their grail is unnecessarily rude...I want one of these as well, and I only lost the NIB Black one to DM4U because he offered the seller more money after we had made a deal, but I was getting it for Oldskool if he wanted it. As a community we help each other achieve what we seek or we just become haters--are we not on the same side? Everyone has a radio they would give a limb for, that is his, let him get it, or at least keep quiet, your response seems petty Panfan, and you have no need to be.
pf ???
is THAT what YOU call "respect" ---- BS !!!
who are you fooling
YOU KNOW for 100% certain --
that oldskool is the ONE devoted sansui collector here !!
and that BLACK sansui was/is his TWO YEAR focus
but -- you decide to bust into this thread-
and try to divert his chances
and then - who are you ???? to decide/suggest that he sells his silver model.
this is nasty and shameful.

wow..... So, I'm not going to be accusatory. I'd rather stick to the facts:
1)I never said anyone should or shouldn't collect whatever, much less however many of any boombox that they like. Not my words.
2)The first time OS ever mentions that he is after a CP-7, it's just that, a CP-7. No mention of black, blue, brown or purple.
3)Second time he mentions it, specifically calls it out as a GRAIL he is after, and I quote:
"Personal Grail - Sansui CP-7. Very rich sound and very high quality unit. Can't wait to get my hand on one. Here's a pic."
4)Then he gets one, the silver one. Only after getting one, he starts talking about a black one. No problem at all with that. But I don't think you can argue this fact.
Yes, oldskool wants one in black. I respect that. There are also several others here interested in ANY CP-7 regardless of color. So I am being petty for mentioning that others would like a shot at either of them? Like I said, he is free to do whatever he wants, regardless of the outcome. I hope he does get the black one he is after. I was just saying that it would be great for others to have a shot at one.
I wasn't attacking OS, or anyone else in my comments, and would appreciate you not making assumptions, then slinging unfounded accusations at me.

So, my last post in this topic. Good luck on the hunt OS. I hope you end up getting it.
This my be your last post to this subject but let's get one thing corrected...because you are dead wrong on this one.
My original mission, LONG before I got a silver one...was to have one IN BLACK!!!
Even posted brochure photos! The black has always been the main mission and for you to miss that and the other members not, I don't know how. Don't care.
Even AFTER I got a silver one, I STILL CRAVED (And still do!) THE BLACK ONE!!! See the avatar, I'ts been around since forever except for a brief period where I changed it on a dare.
And I will say this...
For all the members who recognized from the time I joined this site in 2007 'til now that I wanted one in black and are lookin' out for me thanks. You diligence to help is what makes this hobby truly special. Thank you all so much, hopefully my quest will have a happy outcome...
