I'm looking for a tuning coil in any FM tuner from a sharp box. I'm fixing something for a member here and found the piece is damaged.
It looks like the numbers have to be exact since the tuning screw is black and so is the other in the board which is also black but different pinout.
If you don't want to unsolder it, then send me the parts board, I'll take what is needed and then I'll return it to you. Obviously all shipping plus cost will be covered. This is a rare box but I know sharp used a lot of similiar parts.
Part number looks like:
1033
2AF
68VC
Here is a high res shot:
would one from a sharp gf 777 work cuz i have one.
got pic?.....numbers match?...I think it would be a good fit....thanks!
no pic yet the numbers dont match but it looks exactly the same in every way ,i'll get a pic as soon as i can.
that could be a problem, the part number determines how many legs on the bottom of the part. It has to be very specific or else it will not tune properly.
damn....
the one i have has two numbers
r0070
a8409
and it has 6 legs
that is where it diverges....mine has 7 legs....2 are the metal case (ground) and one side has 3 pins on one end and two pins on the other. And the screw terminal is black....I think the probability will increase if it comes right from a sharp piece since they tend to use the same components across the lines....thanks for looking, hopefully I'll get lucky....

Sounds like the screw thing is cracked.
In some cases you can replace the screw by sliding the metal case off.
Use another screw from a different coil.
I can also see some of the inductor wire which appears to be broken, the whole thing needs replacing. I thought of your suggestion, but its beyond repair.
I have tuner boards available from 8686 and 8585 sharps if needed
they are definetely needed.....anything matching those numbers??
No matches to those numbers, there are several pieces that look like the piece in your pic with the numbers on it, but the only one I have on this tuner board that has numbers on it says:
AO
463
EO53
It does look like the piece in your pic, though
How many legs does it have?
Mine has two large left and right which are the case grounds, and 90 degrees to that, it has 3 pins on one side, two pins on the other....7 total for a pin count.
Yes, two large pins on left and right, and then 3 pins above and 2 pins below. The number on the back of the board where the pins come through is 901
ok, lets give it a try......thanks
what does it say on the top of the coil?
looks like it reads mitsumi
