trim pieces

well guys after picking up a gf555 sharp for free from the recycling centre i need a couple of parts to make it minty again......
right-first of all im needing the front silver plastic trim that runs the entire length of the top of the machine, just above the deck doors and the tuner window.its a slim piece only, not part of the back case.
secondly, the little trim that sits next to the left cassette deck please.and if anyone has one,the sharp badge that sits on the front above the left deck door.
i cant believe i got this-because apart from above faults and needing a damn good clean it works 100% and while not beeing bassy it has a great and powerful sound.one ive always wanted and um so pleased i got it.
anyone with the above trims available please let me know-dont need a full spares machine just the trims please guys!
thank you in advance.

The last GF555 i had,i sold to my mate for a 10 spot, hmm wonder if he's still got it ?? it was all complete aswell, nothing missing, all the metal strips were intact and in good condition, the only thing wrong with it was decks were faulty, the belts were ok,but they needed the little rubber tyrethings replacing on the capstan shaft..i could'nt be assed doing it..

Mine is mint in the shed with dead decks....bloody horid sounding things....and people say the crown sz100 sounds bad...it blows the socks out of a 555...

well dave once again you blow me away with your kind offer lol but nowadays i hedge my luck on finding my boxes for free at the recycling centre, and so a monkey is way beyond my means lol-just got a gf8989 for a skin diver tho,so im over the moon about that-collect it weds-i know what you guys mean about replacing idlers/pinch rolllers etc on these things lol-no go for me too, luckily the decks work on this one-for now.tim i know what you mean about the sound, but i actually dont mind it to be honest-its not bassy, but it goes really loud and badass so it cant be all that bad.

I'll give you that andy lad there loud...and there built well...and congrats on the 8989 son that's a grait score for a 5ver..

Have to agree on both, the 555 i had was built like a tank,i did like it because of its solid, heavy build quality,i think if i would have done a speaker change,i reckon i could have got it sounding beefy, like most sharp boxes, the speakers were'nt the best quality, and yes the 8989 is a lovely box,i would never sell mine,i love it..i did also have a 9797 but that got sold..that was a nice box too..

How about working on sobody's brand new 3 grand pc beanie lad???that's what I was doing all last night....rather nerve recking wouldn't you say ol chap...
andyboombox - 2011-06-22 02:14
yeah i had a 9797 once, but it had left channel issues-but it was a gorgeous looking box-and i bet it too had a good sound.
andyboombox - 2011-06-29 03:14
well guys ive decided to abandon this project after careful consideration-as iv now discovered both decks are screwed too-couple this to the fact that it doesnt really sound that great after all-ill stick it in the shed i think till i decide to have a proper crack at it.hopefully in about 20 years lol
