Hello, lett me introduce myself first, my name is Michel 37 years old from the Netherlands and looking for a nice fully working Boombox, my first one.. but probably not the last one.. realy love the looks of the Crown SZ-5100.. so searching for something like that, hope someone can help me in finding one... already looked many times on ebay but can not find one and if i do find one i like somebody bids more than me...

Solution ... Next time you see one on epay that you really like and want to have ... bid like Twenty Thousand or so and you will be garrenteed to win it ... an you may be paying for it for a while ... but you WILL have One

Have you tried Ebay Germany, they pop up more often on there, you need to be prepared to pay a fair bit though if you are wanting a good one as they are quite popular.

Have you considered a: Sharp GF-9000 or GF-9000Z - same thing - either model number!

or a Sharp GF-575 ?

welcome Michel,have you seen or hurd any of these boxes in the flesh ? i have a crown sz5100,Good Points - they are quite big,flashy looking,they sound kinda ok,Bad Points not megga loud or badass bass or anything,and they feel really cheap !!

I have a Lasonic Trc975,Good Points - They Look Lovely,Feel Quite Solid,Bad Points,I'm Not over keen on the sound,there is too much Distortion,hard to get them to sound right,i never listen to mine because of that reason,i used to have a TRC931,and that sounded alot better/nicer..

@ Beanie Man, Thanks for the information, i only saw them in flesh in a second hand shop in Berlin in the Oderbergerstrasse (http://www.paulsboutiqueberlin.de/paulsboutique.htm), they had a lot of them as decoration in there shop and did not sell them... and touching them was forbidden...saddly also never hurd one of these boxes play... but i know they will look fantastic together with my collection retro robots

these are nice solid boxes, and better build qulaity than SZ-5100.

Actually,i have to confess,its not always about the quality and sound of a box,sometimes its nice to know that you have it,its like having a beatifull picture on your wall,you just like to look at it,and it gives you a nice feeling knowing its there for you to admire when ever you want

Ive got a Unisef and i never use it but it looks great, i will move it on one day if i ever pick up a 931 to replace it.
