Need a sharp motor for my HK-9000 or variant

kittmaster - 2012-02-29 10:17

First time I've seen a motor just not work, usually they are bound up or damaged, or something.......but comparing to the working deck, all the right voltages are there, that means the motor coils must be damaged and open.

Does anyone have this motor, hopefully it was used in more than one sharp type box......shoot me a price also......

I dont have one, but its interesting the year that it says on the motor...sometime in the mid or end of Dec of 1985,,,and i remember that's exactly when that box was around...

yeah, makes it interesting to see the manufacture date approximated.  I hope that I don't have to try and repair this motor, usually 50/50, but it's complete toast

I need a motor too, anybody got one? Maybe from a hk clone?

michiel - 2013-05-12 07:56

Or a complete cassette deck from a clone?....

I had found one a while back with some help from a member, so I'm good, thanks!

make sure that the motor has power going to it also clean the little micro switches that will power the motor up before you condem it .   if its still not working i may have one but i need to know the voltage of the motor 9/10/12 etc  .

michiel - 2013-05-20 01:24

Yesterday I tested the motor. Power is there and when I switch the wires from the broken deck to the deck with working motor it just works... I'm sure by now the motor is gone....

Here pic of it.....

HK9000Motor1

There are not many serviceable parts inside it either. I suspect the IC under the black dot is toast or something.... Measured the other parts and they are just doing their thing...

HK9000Motor2

Official part number of the motor is Sharp RMOTV0208AF02 "Motor with Pulley". Voltage is 12 Volts. Think it can be found in many HK-9000 clones and for example in the Sharp 800 series...

Interestingly this motor has an hole for speed adjust, but there is nothing behind it...

Deliverance, would be great if you could have a look!..

hi michiel ,   i will check the motor out later

kittmaster - 2013-05-20 08:36

now that you've removed the motor, good luck trying to get the brushes back on without damage......LOL....the are a pain.....also, your right, usually the ic under the dot is what is failing, a new motor I see in your future.

Should be fairly inexpensive.

michiel - 2013-05-20 08:55

No problem to get the brushes back. Just use the holes above them to pull them outwards with a bended paperclip. Next, retract the paperclip and they will jump into place... Hope to find a new motor indeed... What kind of motor did you use? Do you know from what kind of box it came?
