do you mean clockwise from the pulley end or back of motor ?

So with motor in hand and the spindle facing vertically down, clockwise.

well i have a 9 volt motor runs both ways , swaping plus minus adjustable speed through the top .

Must be a certain type of motor as mine has to be polarised properly or doesn't work. Sounds good to try at least
