Hi I was wondering if anybody could help me im thinking of buying an Aiwa Cs880, (My first). But on the add it says LCD very dark but radio still works, now as u can well imagine I'm a bit worried. Can the LCD screen be repaired if so how? & is it an expensive job or not?. Please give me your thoughts on the matter Pleeeeeeeeese! ! From a concerned s2g member. Thanks.
the lcd screen has bled through you would have to find another one to repair it . plus it needs speakers refoaming and other stuff . also its in the states so its there prices plus shipping plus import tax glen dont touch it wait for one closer to home .
The thing is though Deliverance I've already started weighing up the cost of the shipping & Yes it's a bit expensive around $129 around £85quid then the speakers need refoaming which is nothing new for a machine like that & the cassette belt is worn & needs changing which is nothing new again even me being a novice knows that much, all thats worring me is the LCD, is it a case of me just unplugging it out & plugging in a new one or does it involve soldering?
How much do u think the import tax is?/ is the import tax to do with weight or cost of the machine or both?
the screen is removable its held in a plastic cover which has screws holding it , chances of getting one tbh is slim . as for import duty got to be around £90

Thanks guys I hear what u both are saying but u know when you put your mind on smthg there's just no budging. If that's all it takes to fix the LCD tuner then fine that's a Challenge I'm willing to take. I hear that changing the belts and refoaming speakers are standard when buying 30 yr old plus Boomboxes anyway.
