I'm in the UK Larry though I have sent bomb proof to the US many times and some members here could vouch for this.
Will send you pics soon.

I think these are more common in EU perhaps, not sure. i haven't seen many US members with one. Uploading images link to you now.

it's an hitachi, did they really make anything any good? very average imo.

nickfish - 2013-05-02 11:05

Hello beatfreak, and welcome.

I have a TRK9150 and it is brilliant. Great all rounder. Then there is the TRK8600 which is built like a tank and although not exactly a heavy hitter in the bass department, it sound very good and looks fantastic.

The 3D machines are a bit hit and miss; mostly miss I think.

The mini's are among the best looking and most highly featured of all but still sound... small.

beatfreak - 2013-05-02 11:13

ye iv'e had most of the hitachi boxes and thought they sound very average, the 8600 being one of the best I think but they just lack something

litfan - 2013-05-03 14:46

I disagree there beatfreak. The silver 8180, is a gem of a radio. The stereo-wide, makes a big difference. The 8600, just doesn`t impress me at all, look`s wise, or, sound wise. One, i don`t hear mentioned much, is, the good old 8800. This thing, was a big step-up, in technology, for hitachi. 2-motor deck, with pre-programmed, computer microchip. This, is my own opinion.

those Perdisco versions of the 8600 look so much better than EU version shame they werent available over here..the 8180 is a gem.. the silver version even more so.

never heard an 8800 Rich they look very like the 8190/8290 is the spec much better?

Hi Larry, I said that I was awaiting an offer, if it was one I could not refuse then it sells, if not then I keep it.

litfan - 2013-05-04 14:47

Sorry, for the late reply bison. Yeah, the 8800, is very much like the 8190/8290, except, it has a metal top plate, 2-motor, computer controlled. feather-touch (?) deck. I like em very much. You are right, about the perdisco version of the 8600. Why, did we alway`s end up with brown?
