I can't say enough nice stuff about our man Sinister. He hooked me up with my ultimate grail,the elusive Aiwa CS880U!!!!! I'm well on the way to restoring it back to it's former glory. It was dead when it got to my house today,but I tinkered with it and got it to power up!!!! on batteries and on ac power. Sin thought the power supply or the rectifier had a bad capacitor,but I think it was just a dirty power switch an I cleaned it with RadioShack tuner cleaner and it powered right up. The DSL switch was dirty too,it cleaned up too. even the dial light works!! I just need to get the cassette working now from some spare parts I have and clean up the typical Aiwa gooey licorice belt syndrome on the deck and have the woofers refoamed. The n when I get everything working I will completely tear it down and repaint the case and knobs and switches. I need to repair one of the screw holes too. I'm hoping to take my time and get it working 100% I will post some pics as I go. Thanks again Sinister,you are the man 100%!!!!!! [URL=[URL=http://imageshack.us]

The tuner seems to work very well. The line in works good too,but the woofers are in dire need of refoaming.But it does'nt sound too bad,the sound is a little distorted. Not much bass right now either.JvcFloyd is going to do that for me once I get everything working and tear it down for resto.
