Ira,
I have to admit I was going to use the EJ's 950 as a parts box for a 985 but the 950 is very nice except for the few broken or missing parts. I'm going to have to re-evaluate which box will be for parts and which one will get fully restored. The fact that the 985 seems to be a rare box gives it the edge over the 950.
well MB -- i dont even know what a 985 is -- but , if i was you - i would get a THIRD box to restore those two !
Same as a 950 but has functional antenna clips.
ya - well the mystery 985 was not even in that 'antique' BBDB --so will have to take your word about the clips !
did you try 589...duh...and do not answer unless you can stay on topic or I will write you up.
what topic ?

Really?
The 985 is almost identical to the 950 except it has a clock/timer. Maybe I'll have to post some pics, I didn't realize it was that rare and I still don't know if it's all that rare but it's the only one I've ever seen.
MB - it MUST be very rare -- its really not in the database .
and FORMER know-it-all, uncle ed, is perplexed and discombobulated re this model !

Well I didn't mean to discombobulate UE, I hope he's alright.
Now you guys have me scratching my head
, did I not read the model right. I'm sure it's a 985 but I'll check it when I get home.
Erniejade rocks! I've always known he was a a great guy! I've gotten quite a few awesome dealsover the years from him too.

Ira,
I verified last night that it's indeed a 985. I'll take some pics and make a post about it later to see if anybody has any information on that model.
thanks - and send a picture to jens--
and a few to uncle ed -- he is now a basket case over this matter !!

Will do.
I'm amazed I came up with a stumper, I didn't think I had it in me. There are so many collectors here that know more than I do, I'll savor the moment.
Thanks all for the compliments!
That 950 from the front looks close to mint. if it was not for the broken handle and i think the battery door and ed's clips, it would have been mint.
I had to run to MN this weekend and I got a shot to meet up with Skippy! Skippy rocks!! I will meet back up with him when I go back to MN in the summer!
