What do you do when you have an RX-DT680 and need a hand. Go to this site and grovel properly!
I needed a control board and TMR sent me a complete unit ready for cannibalizing! Now I have spare parts to boot!
TMR really came through for me and now my DT-680 is ALIVE WITH WORKING DECKS!!! (It did eat a mix tape first but a small price.)
And the icing on he cake...A JR MUSIC WORLD 89'-90' ANNUAL! How cool is that?!? Thanks for he treat TMR and double thanks for helping me rescue my DT-680. It's my wife's favorite box! (Has remote!)
Well I'm happy for you oldskool69 you finally brought your frankenstein back to life I bet she is thumping really good!!
I love the sound in these bad boys the bass is incredible, they are really underated boomboxes I guess it's because it has a CD player.
Thankfully it doesn't look like Frankenstein having genuine "used" Panasonic parts.
And I really missed listening to it. It has now replaced my RX-C300 on the shelf upstairs for the time being.

That's a happy ending oldskool.
Ford93 is right, a boombox with a cd player starts out with a handicap and has to prove itself over and over again. The good news is those of us who know better get good deals on these boxes.
That's right. Eggs as well.

They are underrated. Panasonic was the last IMHO anyway, to really try and have a complete sound across the spectrum. Not all bass, not all highs, just a solid quality unit.
