HOW LONG ? WHERE'S MY NATIONAL RS4300 ?

success - 2009-02-25 14:05

Finally I've bougth a National RS-4300, helped by the s2g memeber Sirkosky, who has searched this BBX for a while for me.
I won the BBX in an Ebay aution at Ebay Germany three weeks ago.
After paying the seller via Western Union, he sent the radio to Miami (see below to found why I've sent the radio to Miami instead to Argentina, where I live).

DHL's last report is from 2/10/2009 ....

Have a look to this accurate infromation Leaving

Fourteen days has gone without news about the shipment.
Is this Normal ?.
How long does it take to ship a boobmbox from Germany to Miami ?
I paid 56 euro for the shipping service ... but the seller didn't tell me what kind of service was ... That's I don't know if he had used air-amil or ground mail.
The seller gave me the track number (I verified that he really brougth the parcel to the post office).
Also he had said me that the shipping will take between five and fourteen days ...
so the boombox MOST have arrived to miami.

The last ...

Is it possible to have custom issues at EEUU custom while trying to pass this device ?
Roll Eyes

Why I've sent the radio to Miami ?

At my country, importing preowned devices which runs on AC is forbiden. So they are hold by the custom. The only way you can pass the device through the custom is to prove that the device match the actual electrical safety standards. So you need to bring the boombox to an Laboratory and run all electrical tests ... which only cost about 6000 dollars !!!!!!!!!
Mad
That's ridiculous !!!!!! Eek

The another thing you can do is contact somebody who is already importing preowned devices without problems ... but paying to someone to override this stupid stupid stupid rule.
I contacted an electronic dealer who bring things from Miami without problems. He has a friend who has an office at Miami, so my boombox first step is Miami. Then she will join another electronics and will be shipped all together to Argentina.
A very high risk ... you know ... two shipments ....
Frown Frown

Thanks for your help !!!!!!

I can tell you from experience I had to wait almost 3 weeks from germany to Illinois. The shipping progress report will stay that way until after you receive the package. hope this helps Smile

I've received boomboxes from Germany via DHL and so far they've been pretty good and on time!

I received mine on or about 2 1/2 to 3 weeks.

not bad if its only that long i waited 2 months for a box from hong kong so if its in miami thats probably there main hub before sending it to it final destination of argentina,, its basicly simular to over here ups dhl fedex and usps it takes a couple of days going though different hubs as it makes it though state lines, they unload it check it in then load back to next truck for the next leg of delivery, so more than sure success that it made it to the mayor miami hub then probaly loaded to another aircraft with stuff headed down your way Nod Yes

Just pray it comes in 1 piece with no damage and believe me you wont care how long it takes anymore Wink

success - 2009-02-26 01:48

That's the other frigthening point.
I keep telling the seller about the nigthmares I've read in s2g with damaged boomboxes.
I asked him several times to pack the radio as weel as he could.
But no pohoto of the parcel. I'm wondering if he has packed well really.
He gave me the track number an that's was all. No photo, no information ... nothing.
I guess a bad packed boombox ... I wish it doesn't arrive destroyed.
From miami to Argentina will be delivered with another vintage eq, so the person will hand this eq. carufully.
