The newbies on here Suck!!!

jaredscottfla - 2009-06-04 23:27

Mad i have more then 3 newbies want to buy bbx's all wanting something for nothing, well guess what, newbies,i'm not selling to you sorry sob's! U guys likwe playing games and i'm not playing! Now **** off!

panasonic.fan - 2009-06-04 23:56

So.....

Now that you've shouted this to the world twice, are you done?

What are you expecting Jared? Newer folks don't tend to know what things are worth. Set prices. Either they meet what you are looking to get, or no. Or you can negotiate down a little bit. Simple.

Enough of this negativity.

If you aren't happy with the offers you are getting, there's this thing called Epay where folks tend to fall over each other to overpay for stuff. Probably where you should focus your efforts.

jaredscottfla - 2009-06-05 00:04

No No No
Not The Case
at All What Has Happened MULTIPLE times is These Newbies Have Commited To Buy,Then Try tactics to Negotiate A better Price Afterwards. This Is Total BS,People Committhey Should Honor Their Commitment To buy. These People DON"t! That's The Diff Here Pan Fan,Turning A blind Eye and Deaf Ear,Certainly Is Not Leading By Example Get The Facts First These are The Facts These People are Trying To Take Advantage of My Situation,And Play On My Good Nature,Well I'm done,It's This sites loss and These Idiots Loss! Ask Yourself Why A Number of Long Standing Members Left and No Longer Post and These Newbies Think they all The All Knowing Oz! Believe Me,I'm Not The Only one Po'd By This Bs,I Think I've made it Clear I'm Done,I'll Never Sell on Here Again,The Inmates Run The Asylum Here! Roll Eyes

panasonic.fan - 2009-06-05 10:01

The inmates run the asylum here?

More like, you let folks push you around.

You somehow believe that your own inability to say no and then move on/ignore folks who lowball you is MY doing? Wait, I guess you also believe that I somehow magically know everything you've PM'd back and forth with these as yet unnamed "newbies", and somehow I am conspiring with them to rip you off?

I don't know what point(s) you think you were trying to make above Jared, but all you managed to prove so far is that you let folks get under your skin way to easily. Don't try to blame me for your problems.

phade - 2009-06-05 10:17

I better not be included because I never tried to make you sell me a box at my price.

All I did was tell you what money, (price range) I have to spend on a box.

jlf - 2009-06-05 10:47

I have to admit to 'dibs' being called twice with no follow up, or payment.

Its a strange way to operate I'll agree. Just doesnt make sense to me?

panasonic.fan - 2009-06-05 10:54

Sure JLF, I agree. The difference is you don't open topics so that you can stand on top of the mountain and extend your middle fingers to the world verbally. Also, you don't blame other folks that have nothing to do with it when a deal doesn't happen, the buyer tries to talk you down in price, etc.

Note to newbies here: asking questions about the price or condition of something put up for sale here is expected. However, if you say you agree to purchase something then disappear, don't expect to be treated kindly. Sellers do talk to each other here, and you will end up finding yourself excluded from buying in the future.

The number one way to earn "cred" when dealing with sellers here is to follow through on your agreement to purchase.

I am not included in this group of individuals am I?

Here's what I would do if I was in your shoes: Tell them that you have the radio for sale, and then disclose the price, and make sure that it is firm. If you want to have a little wiggle room, you and the seller can figure that out yourself.. Once they agree to this price, there should be no room for additional negotiations. If these clowns are doing this, then yes, they are being unreasonable and I would recommend the following:

You: Ok, Mr X, I have your boombox all ready to go and it is packed. Here is my paypal address, which is %&^%&%^*...That will be 85$ plus shipping as we discussed..

Mr. X: Uhhh... You know, I can get this box for cheaper (note the bad English skills) on eBay, because I saw the same box for 70$. WIll you take 70$?

You: Wait a minute now, we had already agreed on a price, and I told you 85$ plus shipping.

Mr. X: Look, can't you just do the 70$? I mean, the box has scuffs on it, and the antenna is dirty...

You: OK, you know what? I will adjust the price then.

Mr. X: So 70$ is OK?

You: The price for the boombox is now 125$ plus shipping.

Mr. X: WHAT? I thought you said you were going to adjust the price?

You: I did, because you like to play games. I offered it to you at 85$ and you agreed, and now you want to turn around and lowball me when we already agreed to the pre-set amount. Either cut the crap and pay me the 85$ plus shipping, or stop wasting my time please!

...And there was a simple dialogue you can follow in the privacy and comfort of your home. Good luck, and please try and relax! Deep breaths, it's gonna be OK, I promise! Roll Eyes

johnnygto - 2009-06-05 13:24

Not every newbie is bad and not every long time member is blessed.

I hate to see good members like Jared done wrong, but will also state that a newbie like Matt (DumpsterMyAss) has been helpful to me also.

I won't clump all newbies together, but if Jared told me of a bad experience with a less established member I would follow suit and not sell to them.

But you don't have to cry about it, blame others for your problems, like you have been doing recently. If you don't work out a deal, it's between you and the person trying to buy from you.

What's with the attitude Jared? You are the one who said you were "done", then proceeded to crap all over the place here with your discontent. I asked you more than once to let it go, and you kept coming back with more "drama".

And somehow, that's my fault? Look in the mirror dude, this is all on you.

ok fine it's all on me, Roll Eyes
Not to worry this place is bs now anyway i am only 1 in the ever growing list of long standing members who are discontented and po'd with the way things are now. This used to be a community of cool people sharing a cool hobby, now it's a site of individual selfish mongrels, trying to screw ea other over, and a moderator who sees himself as the god almighty savior and king of the masses, time for you to come down off your high horse bill and realize your way of moderation drove away countless long time members of this site, and now instead of taking time to pause and reflect you continue to use the same dictatorial bs attitude. Fine,no skin off my nose like i said,i won't sell here anymore,it's no big deal,i certainly won't buy here, that's for damn sure and if my speaking out gets me banned then to all the AUpright members current and former i say,so long,it's been cool for 4 years but this just isn't the same place anymore!

panasonic.fan - 2009-06-05 13:55

Jared, you need help.

You started this thread to hate on new members, then it segues into your editorial on me, because I don't join in on your bashing of newbies here.

What is sad is that people like you use anything that comes up to hate on something completely unrelated. You are the one who should be ashamed of his behavior in this instance, because you are the long time member who has been around long enough to know that newbies aren't always reliable buyers.

Rather than take the dealings with newbies in stride (IE not whine about it), you start pointing fingers, calling names, then argue (which is pointless) with them, and then do it publicly.

All I did was ask for it to stop. That is not dictatorial, it's called doing what a mod should do. I am not going to take sides with you or any other member here. When I see something going on that is counterproductive to the site (as yours and a few of the newbies were becoming), I step in and see that it stops as amenably as possible.

So then you start taking shots at me, entirely unrelated to this, and OH MY GOD LOOK PF DARES TO DEFEND HIMSELF..... Laugh Out Loud

Goodbye drama queen, don't let the door hit you on the way out..... Roll Eyes

jaredscottfla - 2009-06-05 14:02

Laugh Out Loudjesus is this laughable,i'm not gonna lose sleep ovrer the fact u think i need help bill, there's no point in going tit for tat,the facts speak for themselves, the majority of the heart and soul of this site is gone and u drove us away,we know it u know it,the site is not the same, enjoy the newbies, maybe they'll bow to king bill Laugh Out Loud

panasonic.fan - 2009-06-05 14:11

So, Jared is upset because he thinks I took a newbies side over him in a recent "deal gone bad". And because I dared to ask him to stop littering the forums with hateful, counterproductive posts, I am being a dictator.

You're right Jared, the facts do speak for themselves. All of the posts are here. You acted as bad, some could say worse than the newbie.

I didn't take a side in this, so now you have to attack me for it. Like you said, the words speak for themselves.

Yep, I've been there a long time. Makes this place look like kittensonaleash.com

dumpstermyass - 2009-06-05 15:01

WHOA! I understand some people right now are mega-pissed about stuff right now, but I think it might be better if we just totally dropped it and moved on...We don't know what is aggravating certain members of this site, maybe there is something underlying we don't know about. I am not going to point fingers and I'm not going to suggest that anyone else does, but let's just categorize this as one of those bad day outbursts that we apologise for the next day because we had a LOT on our minds...

I hope everyone involved can get over this. I mean, come one, haven't you guys known each other for a long time on here? Sure, it's just a forum, but some people have some hard-core time invested here and met a lot of cool people over the years. Sometimes we have days where we get really angry, and it may be about a bunch of stuff besides the main issue at hand. We get frustrated and the next thing you know, we explode and everyone gets hit with verbal shrapnel.

I just hope that people don't leave the site because of this and any friendships made over the years aren't jeopardized. Anyway, thats my 2 cents...

panasonic.fan - 2009-06-05 15:11

Well said. Since this topic was started with the intent to hate on others, a positive note is the perfect place for it to end.
