Just won a bargain box on the bay

claret.badger - 2012-01-23 03:12

And now the seller wants to cancel the transaction

Reason and I quote "not given"

They advertised it as spares or not working - so when I asked them what wasn't working - they came back 3 hours before auction end - oh it's 100% it just wouldn't play CDR's

SO I bid - and I threw down a big* amount coz I wanted it

and I won the auction at 6 quid - coz they never updated the auction to say it was fully working.

NOW they wanna cancel

This sucks donkeys balls

*big for me

plop - 2012-01-23 03:26

I can sympathise. This has happened to me more than once.

I bidded on an auction and bids were climbing steadily. During the course of the auction the seller managed to get it working. He realised that there was alot of other interest via pm and withdrew it presumably to sell privately at a very high price.

The same thing happened with another item and it was taken down because the seller wanted to sell it privately.

On a third example I was bidding on, all bids were canceled because apparently the item "developed a fault", but interestingly the item description was never updated or the item re-listed with the "fault".

had that carry on my self suddenly doesnt work properly all of a sudden withdraw item , usualy been offered more money as a rule .

claret.badger - 2012-01-23 06:23

surely they can't withdraw it AFTER I win?

that's just cheeky

well i sent payment via paypal - and declined via ebay to cancel

let's make it prickly for them . . . .

driptip - 2012-01-23 08:18

sorry to hear that Claret, report them to ebay and bad feedback is in order.

chris69 - 2012-01-23 08:34

Don't let them cancel! They have an obligation and the are required by ebay to sell no matter what! All you have to do is file a SELLER NON-PERFORMANCE complaint with ebay

claret.badger - 2012-01-23 11:48

it's what I won last night
and now they've cancelled

When I used to sell Panasonic I remember it being a quality made item - solid and weighty for its size
Sounds much better than any other egg I saw (cobra's excepted)

driptip - 2012-01-23 11:53

it looks pretty decent , not a complete EGG, still somewhat square, and it seems to be packed with features thats always good.

chris69 - 2012-01-23 12:10

READ what i posted above. The seller is obligated to sell.

claret.badger - 2012-01-23 15:51

she's refunded my money
I've complained to ebay

but in reality - there's f**k all I can do

I wish I pulled this stunt when I let an Nikon F3 go for 40 quid

ghettoman - 2012-01-23 15:56

i remember buying a hifi a couple of years ago,it was pick up only,i won it,and when the auction ended i messaged him and asked for his address, within an hour i noticed i had an extra positive feedback from no where, when i checked,it was from the seller,it said buyer does'nt want it anymore, and he relisted it,i thought WTF ??? so i blasted him a negative out of sheer disgust..

see i aint like that though,i once sold a *Mint* GF575 on the bay,it was when the prices of these started to take off, anyhow for some reason it only sold for £50,my mates were watching it and wehen it ended they said i would be crazy to let it go for that, but i said no,i am gutted but thats the way ebay is,and i stuck to the deal, the guy came to pick it up and even he said he was surprised i went through with it,he said he bid £90,but he won it for £50..i just told him thats the way it goes,he never gave me any extra but he shook my hand and said thanks, and he promised to look after it..

claret.badger - 2012-01-23 16:00

you should have cut him

Mind you - I felt bad when I picked up a MINT RX5050 from some bloke in London for 99p - he insisted on giving me the penny change
Also got the RXCT990 the same day - and the girl insisted on giving me a matching Technics CD player with it - all for less than a score

them days are gone

ghettoman - 2012-01-23 16:04

i've won a few very low wins, and in every case i've always messaged them and offered to back out if they were not happy, apart from about 2 that actually agreed coz they were'nt happy, all the rest said no its ok,you won it fair and square, and they've always gone through with it..

claret.badger - 2012-01-23 16:07

and so they should

like you said - I took it on the chin when things don't sell for what they normally do

it is gutting though
