Hi all, can some one tell me the make of this boombox i saw. It was a boombox with a walkman cassette and radio that you can remove from the whole boombox and use it separately.
Thanks, John
There are actually a number of boomboxes that have this feature. Would help greatly to know to help you a picture or good description.
Ones I know of Akai PJ-C7,
JVC PMD100
Unisef ( low quality),
Sharp QT-19
Harley JUNIOR
KENWOOD CR-50 a barely qualify as boomer but if it has 4-6 c or D batteries, Two speakers is heavy and stereo technically qualifies.
TOSHIBA RT-CS1
YORX 1545 with B&W TV AM/FM Cassette
I have the Akai, Unisef, Harley amd Yorx. The quality of the cassette players in these detachable models is usually at best moderate quality sound/construction. On a side note these boomers with detachable walkmans are usually hard to find and rare.

Thanks so much, been great help.
Hey there AO, I tried to trade for the Kenwood many months ago did not work out. It was listed for sale on ST2G is how I found out about it. No I dont own the Kenwood. Looks to be nice quality unit.
Link CR-50
This Toshiba of mine is an interesting one. It has two liftout cassette decks (one a recording type) and a liftout radio. I believe it to be a rare item.

It's a Hitachi CP90S
& yes it's pretty rare. If it sounds as good as it looks you've got a winner there. Also, is this one of the very first boomers to have an "extra bass" switch of some sort?
