Greetings all. I am thinking of purchasing a sony wm-701s walkman. It is in mint condition in its box. The price is very high though. Am i right in thinking this is the rare tiffany model sony produced? If so, only 250 were produced right? Would it be worth paying big money for this model?

Cheers mate. Just done some digging. Yes, you are correct. The 701T is the really rare one. Would be a really cool model to own. Not many of them knocking around.

701s is rare to but without the wooden box and the 701t come with the wooden box and is very hard to find.The 701s can goes anywhere from $450-$1100 and 701t goes for $1000-$1800 Mint in the box with everything, I know have both.

Yes I think they were all presentation models... I used to own the one that was presented to Barbara Mandrell!
