Step one
Download VMWARE Player

Step two
Installed XP Home or Pro using VMWARE while in vista, using the installer

Step three
Set network adaptor to NAT for sharing with Host machine to virtual machine

Step four
Installed all windows updates

Step five
Plug in Minidisc to computer and installed driver and software in windows XP side

You are ready to go, just drag music from Vista side to XP that you would like to tranfer.
