If I have a European power adapter and want it to plug into a wall socket in the US, do I need to bother with voltage conversions or will I be ok with just a plug adapter for the tip?

The power adapter says:

Input ~230V 50/60 Hz 10VA
Output 2V 350mA


I believe US power outlets provide about 120V. Would a walkman or any other European electronics work off of this?

No you need a stepup transformer.

Either that or go to Tandy & buy one of those adapters which allows you to choose the output voltage plus comes with a selection of jack adapters.
